Default Update from last week (smaller sac)

WE GOT TWO HEARTBEATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I realize that the doctor has to tell us all the risks and negative aspects on this but he didn't sound positive about the smaller guy but lets just lay out the facts here:

Big Baby last week measured 6 weeks right on target
Small Baby last week measured 3 weeks 1/2 size of big baby

Big Baby this week measured 7 weeks 1 day right on target
Small Baby this week measured 6 weeks ONLY 1 WEEK BEHIND. He grew 3 weeks in 1 week!!!!!!

Big Baby this week had heartbeat of 132
Small baby this week had heartbeat of 127

What the doctor is worried about is the smaller baby's yolk sak is quite large and the embryo is small and sometimes those babies just don't make it or end up having genetic disorders and so if he continues to grow to 10 weeks our doctor suggests getting testing for him so we can be prepared which that is A-OK.

So my question for this week lol is does anyone have experience with the bigger yolk sak? I mean I took the pic of the smaller baby this week and compared it to my pic of the bigger baby last week which were both 6 week pics and they looked the same and I dare to say the little baby this week looked a little bigger! I can't tell the difference in the size of the yolk sacs between the two.

I just think God is bigger than this and if he wants lil man to keep growing then He will make him and no statistic or percentage is going to stop that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mel,
Sounds like Little Baby is catching up just fine! Are you gonna call them Baby A and Baby B or Big Baby, Little Baby...LOL. You are so excited & that is all that matters. I'm very happy you were able to hear two heartbeats AND see that the other is catching up. Docs have to be cautious...very fine line there. If anything goes wrong & he never indicated there were odds this baby faces, you would be very upset and he would likely be up for a battle. So, he is just doing his job, but that doesn't mean you can't rightfully get excited. Just keep in mind that all multiple pregnancies are high risk and be advised of the risks he points out. Otherwise, keep loving BOTH of those babies and KUP.
Rhonda

Thats GREAT!!! I was thinking about you and so glad to hear that Baby B is growing!

I dont know about the yolk, but my Baby B sac was much smaller. The doctor kept telling me to not get attached. I just knew from the start that my little guy was going to make it. And he's in the other room screaming for me right now!

Dont give up on your lil buddy! God doesnt follow statistics.

Congrats! I don't remember if the yolk sac was smaller too but our Baby C was a week-10 days behind in size until about 8 or 9 weeks. Stay positive!!
