We use reusable diapers, I love them! I have a nice new stash for baby #2.

With a new HE washer and detergent and a clothesline disposables work out to be more expensive for us.

And we are buying gently used cloth that we plan to pass on to others to use when we're finished, can't get much cheaper then free!

When we switched over to cloth we didn't have even a $10 increase in our monthly water or electric bills. And that was with 2 in cloth. And as far as detergent goes...you'd better be using so little that it lasts you a good long time or else you will have some pretty useless diapers

We went from spending, for two in sposies, upwards of $120 each month (one was still in the young baby stage of going through a lot of diapers each day) down to spending a total of $150 for the cloth that got them both through to potty training and then maybe using $8 a month in water and electricity to wash/dry them.
