Going to see a lawyer on Tuesday!
Hey ladies! I have an appt. with an attorney on Tuesday. I am going to see what it is going to take to file for divorce. I am DONE! My ex is a selfish idiot! He has been a real winner of a husband and father and I just don't want that in our lives anymore. He is going on 6 weeks of making no effort to see the kids. He has called once in the last 3 weeks. Wish me luck!!! I am ready to get this over with!

Good luck, I just had a consult with a divorce lawyer myself! I hope it all goes smoothly for you! I was shocked at the amount of child support and spousal support I was eligible for-it was like double what I thought! Hope you are pleasently suprised too!
I think we need to start a "I refuse to be treated badly by ANY man" club! ; )

Hope all goes well for you. My Divorce was final April of 2008. I drafted a seperation agreement and filed for divorce on my own. All is going well with visitation and support so far. God Bless
|

Thanks, My husband has close to 500,000 dollars in debt right now. None of it is in my name, and most of it wasn't my choice to purchase. Most is business related. That is one of my main reasons for getting a lawyer. I don't want to get screwed into any of his debts if I don't have to. And with 4 kids, I feel safer having a lawyer represent me.

Thanks everyone. It went really well. She doesn't think that they will be able to put his debt on me since it is all in his name and he owes so much in support. It shows how he is making no effort to make good on any debts of his. She thinks the visitation process won't be too bad either. I hope not. I have to fill out the parenting plan and financial papers and get the child support order to her and then she will start the filing process. It is going to cost a pretty penny, but my parents are helping me big time on that one. Thank God I have them! So, everything went well! I really like the attorney too. She made me feel very comfortable and I trust that she will do a good job for me and my children.

Im glad you are comfortable with your attorney. I hope that some good can come out of this. I really wish your ex wasnt such an a$$ tho. Im really sorry, and good luck to you babe!
