UPDATEI am not pregnant. I had a chemical pregnancy. I am suppose to be going into the midwives' to see what is going on if I don't resume my cycles within the next 6 weeks. *sigh* I suppose it is all for the best... and I knew there was something not right. Ah, well. Thanks for the support ladies...
![]() __________________________________________________ _______ Hi I am new here. I know the site through another member. I just need some support, I suppose. I took a HPT on Wed, and got a very light BFP. I was shocked, because I am exclusively nursing my 11 month old, and have yet to have cycles. I thought I was seeing things at first ![]() Anyhow, not convinced, I took another, and it was a BFN! I waited until the next morning and took yet another, and it was also negitive. Being a POAS addict, I took another that afternoon and was beyond shocked when that one was a BFP!!! ![]() ![]() So I called my midwives, and they have suggested I get my levels checked via blood. I went in on Friday for the bloodwork and am hoping to get my results on Monday. This has been a HUGE rollercoaster of emotions over the past 4 days. I have been excited, dissapointed, hopeful, defeated, and finally, just kinda jaded. At this point I am afraid to feel anything. Monday seems forever away. I don't even know what to think. I am not having clear "pregnancy symptoms" and I have thought I was getting my period for a while now. I am having some cramping... uncomfortable, but not crazy. Enough, though that I have wanted to put on a heating pad (which I haven't just in case). Other than that, nothing. No sore boobs (but Im nursing, and they weren't sore with DD#2's pregnancy for the same reason). I am crazy hungry, but that is a symptom of nursing as well. UGH! ![]() I had never heard of a false positive HPT before... but after doing some research, I am learning they are more more common than I thought. Either way, it is not the end of the world. I know that I have a very very young one at home, and am blessed that we have never had any fertility problems... but getting jerked around like this with my emotions is absolutely HORRIBLE! Wow, I apologize that this post (my first post ever lol) is so long. I guess I had more to say about this than I realized. I promise Im not always this crazy sounding LOL

The tests were all different brands... the one the first morning was one brand, and came up both pos and neg. Yesterday's that cam up pos was the same brand that this morning came up neg.

One of the ones that read "pregnant" or "not pregnant"? I did. They both said "not pregnant"... but there was clearly a line on one of my other tests...

It's probably so sudden a digi one won't register yet because you don't have enough hcg in your system. If you used a First Response or even those dollar tree tests then it's possible to get a faint positive earlier than other brands like the digi ones. I got my first very very faint bfp with a dollar tree test in the morning, took another one in the afternoon, same thing then that night I took a digi and it said pregnant. 2 hours later (being a POAS addict and not believing what I saw) I took another digi one and this one said not pregnant. I realized that I had been drinking so much to make myself go pee that I must have diluted the hcg in my system and it wasn't strong enough to show up on the test... and of course i'm pregnant!

Typically if you wait too long to read your test longer than 10 minutes it can be a false postive but, if you read within the timeline without being late to read the postives are usually accurate. One of your tests could be more senstive than the other one. Good luck with the blood test.

Big hugs momma! I know what a rollercoaster you've been on and I hope that they call you first thing on Monday to let you know what your hcg quant results are.
