Default ttc for number two and discouraged.

Hi everyone, I am brand new to this site and thought it might help. My husband and I have a beautiful 14 month old daughter and are ready to have number two. We have been trying for a couple months with no luck. Since I had our daughter my periods have not been very regular. I can go anywhere from 28-35 days! Its totally crazy. Just not sure what to do next. I am on day 33 today and still no period and negative pregnant test. Any advive would help.

I hope your stay here is short!

Do you chart? That can help you see how your cycles are working now that you've had a child.

Welcome...hope you aren't here long!
I agree charting and maybe using OPK's would be a pretty good, yet easy, start.

I would try the CBE fertility monitor. It really helps to figure out your O date, especially if your periods are irregular. They can be pricey, but you could find a good used one on e-bay.

Good Luck!

If you have good insurance I'd also ask your Dr to run some blood work. Make sure you're ovulating, and that your thyroid and other hormone levels are normal.

Thank you everyone for all your comments. Honestly I am not really sure how to 'chart'?? I know it sounds silly but I really didn't think I would have to try to get pregnant this time, didn't take long with my daughter.

Fertility Friend will teach you how to chart and the basic version is FREE. It's pretty simple, you just stick your morning temps in and the program does the rest.

I agree with Jen, too. It wouldn't hurt to take a trip to the OB and let them run some bloodwork. After having my DD, my OB found that I wasn't ovulating.
