Default Getting To Know You, All About You!

Well here is the thread I mentioned! This is a way for all of us to get to know each other better all the way from those that have been around for awhile and the newbies!

My name is Karen and I have been married almost a year. DH (Zeb) and I have been NPP/TTC since late September of last year. We live in Fort Collins, Colorado and I am a full time student and soon to be working part time for an at home call center position. Zeb is currently looking for a job.

We have three cats, Milo, Dwight and Kuu. I know absolutely no one in this town, all of my friends live in either Houston, TX or Spokane, WA and all of my family is either in east Texas or northern Idaho.

I enjoy music and TV shows (I just started watching V last night, it looks great. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Lost, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Firefly and Queer as Folk). I'm not a movie buff and I don't know nearly as much as I should about basic films but it's okay.

I also really enjoy craft brews which I know I won't be able to enjoy when/if I get that BFP! I know more about different kinds of beer than almost anyone you'll ever meet.

If you want to know more about me, feel free to ask!

Now what about you guys?

I am Tracy, DH (Kevin) and I have been married for 1 year and 1 month. We've been TTC since June 2009, I've been off BC since November 2008 and have had 1 miscarriage in August 2009. I've had endometriosis since I was about 17. I also have a thyroid disease called Hashimoto's which my doctor thinks may have played some part in my miscarriage. But I'm on a great medicine for it, that seems to be working really well, so I'm definitely hopeful!

I work as a compliance officer for a community bank, and I love my job, even though most people have absolutely no idea what i do I love red wine, Nora Roberts books (I'm obsessed!), movies, cooking, playing piano, my friends, and my family. I grew up on my family's farm, so I love wide open country air, and looking out over land that my family has owned for generations. ( Ok so part of that paragraph so sounded like an online personal ad!!)

I love all the girls on here, I've learned so much since I joined, it's been great to be a part of this community! I hope we all get our BFPs as soon as possible, we all just have to have faith that it's something that WE can't control. I know that's my biggest issue, relinquishing control, but I"m trying!

My name is Tiffany. I am 25 years old. DH will be 28 next month. We were married on 07/08/09. We have been TTC since January 2009. I am on my 3 strength of Clomid and it appears to be working this time. Whoo hoo! We have 4 fur babies: A German Shepherd, a German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix, a mini pin/chihuahua mix and a cat. We buy lots of lint rollers. We live in Southern California but I am hoping that one day (sooner than later) we will be able to afford to move up north.

I work at an environmental laboratory. My dream is to finish school and one day run a homeless shelter that will provide the homeless with counseling, education and job and housing placement. It will be a place where they can learn necessary skills to be self-sufficient.

I LOVE animals and have been a vegetarian for 7 years. I love to read. I just started Dan Brown's new book The Lost Symbol and I'm loving it so far. I am addicted to Mafia Wars and Farm Town on Facebook. I think that The New Adventures of Old Christine is the funniest show I've ever seen in my life. I also love House and Lost.

That's all I can think of at the moment...

I love this thread!! Good Idea!! My name is Mira, Dh and I have been married since may 2005 and dating since 2001. I came of BCP in March and had a chemical pregnancy in May. We have been trying or not preventing since march. We are suppose to be taking a break and just not preventing for a while but as you can tell I just had to temp and pee on something, so I am still doing OPK's. (I know I'm terrible) I have PCOS and I have always had very irregular periods.I have done one cycle of Clomid but I'm not going to start back until after Christmas. We live in Alabama, I'm a nurse and I love my job!! I deal with adults only!...NO HooHaas or babies!! I love this site and I also have learned so much and I look foward to getting to know you all better!!

My name is Sam. Mitch (DH) and I have been married a little over a year. We've been trying for 6 months. We have 2 cats (Salt and Pepper) and a dog (Princess). I live in Evanston, WY. We are right on the border of Utah. I am currently just a housewife. I have a BA in Religious Studies. I'm hoping to start as a cashier in Wal-Mart. My interview is tomorrow. Mitch is going back to school. Since he put me through college, I'm going to put him through college now. No known issues in fertility. So far, with the two months of temping, I'm ovulating normally. Hope that's a good sign. I hope to one day be a stay-at-home mom and work from home with a non-profit organization. Okay, that is enough about me. I'm excited to learn about everyone else.

This is cool! My name is Britney. I have been married to Mat for 10 1/2 yrs. We had been trying to get pregnant for about the first 6 years of our marriage and then we decided that we wanted to try to adopt. We put our papers in and 2 years later we finally received the greatest gift anyone has ever given us. A baby girl we named Lily Sue. We call her Silly Lue!! She turned one in August.

I learned a ton about myself and my faith through the adoption process and would not change the fact that my beautiful baby girl is adopted. Her birth mother is an amazing woman whom I admire and am so grateful for everyday. I work part time at the local grocery store we live in. I love my neighborhood and even though my family is an hour away, its worth it to be in such a great city.

I love to bowl, watch hockey and spend a lot of time outdoors. I also love to read and spend time with my fabulous husband and daughter.

It's nice to get to know all of you!

Great idea!

I am Barbara, DH is Jeff and we've been married for 4 years, together for 8. We've been NPP since Spring of 2008, trying since last winter, with a setback of an early m/c in July of this year. We have been actively trying again since September and I hope and pray every day for my BFP. I've been trolling the boards here for a few months and am encouraged every day by at least one of you.

So as not to let my TTC stuff define me, here's some other stuff: I have two nieces and two nephews and adore all of them. I have two cats that entertain me all the freaking time. I am so madly in love with my husband it sickens me sometimes. I LOVE to cook. I work in the wine business, and love wine of all kinds and I enjoy giving recommendations and advice. And Karen, I also love a good craft brew! I am especially into hefeweizen, kolch, and Belgian and white ales. Let's trade favorites!

Ummmmm I dig Fringe, 30 Rock, Community (new show on NBC soooo funny!) and just got into Glee. I am a gigantic Cubs' fan (yeah I know) and I love love LOVE football.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you better!

My name is Erica, my husband Ben and I have been married since August 2006. I have been off BCPs since 1/2009, but we've really been trying since July (I think we have a good shot this month!) Neither one of us have been told that we have a problem in the repro department, but am getting kinda worried since we've been NPP for almost a year now...

I am a nurse in the recovery room in a tiny little hospital in Mammoth Lakes, CA. I love living in this area-everyone here is about living life to its fullest and employers absolutely support this-our schedules are made around our ski time and our backcountry permits-it's definitely a great place to live.

We have 3 pets-2 cats who have been with us for a while, and we just brought a german shepherd mix home today!

I am so glad that I found this site and forum. Everyone here is so awesome, and it is so great to be able to talk about all of the good and bad things about this whole process.

I'm Robin. I have been married for almost 3 years (Dec 30th 2006). We got PG in our first month of marriage and lost that pregnancy in March 07. We had three more losses in the next year (4 total).

I was diagnosed with Complex Atypical Endometrial Hyperplasia in May '08. I endured 4 endo biopsies and nearly 12 months of horrible cancer medications until late March '09 when The final biopsy found I was free of any type of Hyperlasia

Since then, I have done 3 rounds of clomid (#1&2 150mg for 5 days, #3 150mg for 8 days) all were busts. I did not get viable eggs, nor did I Ovulate. I was scheduled to do Ovarian Drilling in June, but held off since I was changing insurance and would have IF coverage in a few weeks. I did all the new blood work with Kaiser Center for Reproductive Care in Sacramento and was ready to start an injectable+TRIGGER+IUI cycle, but DHs semen analysis (both in July and october) came back extremely abnormal.

DH is now taking 50mg of clomid for 10 weeks to try and bring up his numbers. He will do another s/a in January and then we will hopefully move on to an injectables+trigger+IUI in January.

We have two wonderful dogs, Amber a Rat Terrier and Carter a jack Russel. We love our babies!

Fun thread! I'm Jenn and DH (Ben) and I have been married for 6 years and have one son (Owen) who is almost 14 months. We've been TTC for four months now (this is my third cycle charting). I suspected I have a LPD b/c my LP was 10/11 days, so I went to my doc and she said we could try Progesterone supplements and if that doesn't work, then Clomid.

I'm a SAHM, but do work part-time as a recruiter from home. We have one furbaby ~ our 8-yr old cat Riley who we adopted from the humane society when he was 8 weeks old. I love wine and DH and I frequently visit the local wineries on the weekends with picnics ~ it's fun! My favorite shows are Biggest Loser, LOST, 30Rock, The Office and Jon&Kate+8 even though it's almost over.

It's so nice to get to know you ladies better! Thanks Karen for starting this thread!

So glad to see this thread so active! Hello everyone! My name is Dayna. I am 33 years old and my DH is also 33. We have a daughter named Adrian Rose who is will be 18 mo old next week and a fur baby named Trooper, a ten year old Australian Shepherd. We have been ttc since Sept. My goal was to be pregnant by the time my DD hit 18 months. So far, no luck. We will see.

I am a Texas Native and me and my family live in the country on land that has been in my family for years. I am a teacher and have been teaching juveniles at the detention center in Killeen, TX going on two years now. Quite an interesting job, I must tell you. My DH is a project manager and works in Austin. My DD stays with her Nana and grandmother during the week and is such a wonder! I still can't believe that she was the LO inside me tickling my ribs! Such a wonder and a miracle she is! I can't wait to give her a little brother.

I have been on APA since Sept and must admit I am an addict. The ladies on here are so wonderful and I am grateful to have met you all!

. I'm Cindy. My DH is Josh. We have been married since June 2004. I have 2 DS's and 1DD from a previous marriage. I finally got smart and kicked my cheating ex to the curb. Then lo and behold 2 months later, I met up with my best friend from high school(Josh) and we started hanging out. Anyway, he knew I couldn't have anymore children because of my tubal ligation and told me he never wanted kids.(I had to clarify that with him before we got too close) Then, 1 year later we end up getting married and 5 years after that, we decide we would love to have another baby. (he considers my 3 his) So, I started searching the internet to find a good Dr that does reversals. I ended up finding a wonderful one and so this passed July, I had my surgery. Everything went well. My fallopian tubes were opened back up and here I am today. every chance we get, within reason. haha! And lots of praying of course. Can't get anywhere without prayer, right!!!! So, that's my story. Sorry it was so long and drawn out. I just want to thank all of you ladies for your support. Y'all are what keeps me motivated.

Oh awesome you love beer! My favorites are pale ales and IPAs. I just love that hoppy bitter taste. I love the fact that I live in Colorado and we have three (soon to be four) microbreweries here in my town! (New Belgium, Fort Collins Brewery and Odells). I also am starting to like porters and stouts more but when I first started developing my tastes I preferred the wheat beers and ambers (which I still love most ambers).

I am a vegetarian as well! I've only been one for a year but my husband has been one since he was 13 (so that makes 14 years for him). I might have some questions for you about raising kids in a vegetarian home when the time comes

I'm in the same boat you are, we've been NPP since late Sept last year and we haven't had anything at all. No M/C that I know of so I'm not sure what might be wrong. I hope we both get our BFPs sooner rather than later

Hi everyone! What a great idea for a thread. It's nice to see that I have a bit in common with most of you!

I'm Dana. I'm 34 and I've been with my fiancee (41) for 6 years. We live together are supposed to be getting married, but the whole wedding topic has caused numerous arguments and quite frankly, I just don't see the necessity right now. We have been NPP/TTC for 19 months. I have never been pregnant.

I am a committed omnivore, but my DF has been a vegetarian for 26 years. We have three cats and four rats. I am a voracious and eclectic reader, and watch way more television than I should. I love Glee, 30Rock, The Office and many, many more. But no reality shows except American Idol, lol.

I, too, love a good beer. But sorry, Karen, keep the hops to a minimum for me! I'm a big fan of the Trappist Ales, lambics and sour ales, and generally unique flavors. I do not like the "beery" taste of most mainstream beers, lol. I also love the sweet, sweet wines that wine connoisseurs despise.

I work for a health insurance company in a position that addresses the costs associated with medical care. I enjoy my job and I think it is very important. I try not to discuss it with others because of all the prejudices and misconceptions people have.

I wish all of you good luck on your TTC journey!

I'm from Texas too! I grew up in southwest Houston

Haha I looove hoppy beer. It's amazing. I LOVE sour ales though! If you ever get a chance you HAVE to try New Belgium's La Folie beer. It is the more sour beer I've ever had and it's amazing. Expensive but so worth it!

And for your hubby being a veggie so long! That's very admirable And it's okay, I still get random cravings for meat once in awhile but then I smell it cooking and change my mind. Silly body/mind playing food tricks on me!

I'm Ashley. I'm 28 and DH is nearly 31. We have an 18 month old son named Travis. We are ttc #2. I just recently had an early miscarriage, so we are back on the ttc train.

I live in the UK but am American, DH is British. I work part-time and my time away from work is spent entertaining my little boy. We like to travel and go to mainland Europe once a year. Going all over the UK is fun, too. I do try to get over to the US every few years as my family is all there. I'll always be an Arkie at heart.

Great thread, good to get to know everyone here! Wishing everyone BFP's ASAP!

Hi Everyone!

I'm Charity, and DH is Tom. We've been married for 3 years as of next Thursday. I stopped BC in July, just because I wasn't comfortable with how it might be affecting my body (We made sure to buy LOTS of condoms cuz Tom wasn't ready for an "accident" - although I would have welcomed one). In August we found out Tom had testicular cancer, which kind of changed our perspective on kids. We decided that no time is an ideal time, and after Tom's surgery had healed enough to BD we starting TTC.

I am a Master's student in Psychology (I'll be graduating at the end of this year). I study how knowing what "pushes your friend's buttons" is good in relationships (duh... i know!). I hope to continue on with a PhD, but struggle with how that fits in with having a family.

I love doing crafts, but NEVER have time. I would rather stay in and have a good conversation over coffee than going out to a bar. I have all 10 seasons of Friends and have watched them more times that I can count. Putting on an episode is soothing to me.

I have a parrotlet (yes, a teenie parrot), and I love her. Her name is Bella and she loves to cuddle. I think birds as pets are highly under-rated.

Oh, and I'm from Southern Ontario, Canada! It snowed today for the first time this year - kind of a wet blizzardy snow and I got soaked on my way to school.

Great thread!

My name is Mandi and I'm 24. My DH Matt will be 26 next month. We have one DD, Madilyn, who is 18 months old. We're TTC #2. Well, TTC is actually temporarily on hold as DH is currently deployed, but we'll be back in the game full swing come Feb 2010. We started TTC #2 in Jan 2009. DD came without much struggle at all, but this next one has been more of a challenge. We did our first round of clomid 100mg over the summer, but had a m/c.

I have worked as an LPN but am currently unemployed by choice. I quit when DD was 4months old so DH could work on his masters program FT. I enjoy scrapbooking and crafting in my spare time. I also make hair bows and am working on setting up my Etsy for that

Hope all you wonderful ladies get your BFPs in no time!
