I take my first Lupron shot on 9/23....so it is still a ways away....but I JUST got my box of meds and am already feeling slightly overwhelmed. I'm going to have my mom go through everything with me to make sure it is right.

    When are you starting everything?

I am 39, my fiance is too.
We have been TTC pretty much the whole time we've been together- 6 years.
We had to pay for our first 3 cycles (approx. 50K), which we wouldn't have cared about, if we were holding a baby in our arms. Now I have insurance that covers two cycles by the age of 40, so, I am hoping this is it.

    My first cycle was BFN
My second cycle was BFP, but, it was a blighted ovum, so no baby.
My third cycle didn't make it to transfer because the one fertilized egg I had, did not continue to multiply and was not viable.
Here I am 4 months later on my fourth cycle and I am praying, bargaining, stressing and wanting to scream for a MIRACLE.

Had a scan today (5th day of Gonal-F) to find 20 follies size approximately 14mm! No wonder both left and right abdomen feels uncomfortable (with very mild sharp pain every now and then). RE said am progressing better than expected and kept me at the same dosage. Will know the exact date and time of retrieval on Sat (next scan). Grow follies grow!!!!

    Any updates Mia??????

The internet cheapies pregnancy test arrived in the mail today. Should I keep testing during the 2ww (to see if the line gets darker) or should I just wait for the blood test? The 2ww will be a tough one!

I don't know what to say to this one. The 2WW has got to be almost unbearable. I'm scared to death of pregnancy tests. I would like to say that when my time comes I'll wait for the blood test, but I have no idea what is better or less stressful! with whatever you decide!!

I can honestly say that I have NEVER taken a HPT while doing infertility treatments. I took a few when I was first married (17 years ago) but I have always waited for my blood tests. To be honest, I never thought of doing a HPT before having the blood test. I didn't know where was such a POAS addiction til I came here When my time comes, I know I will wait for the blood test results, the 2ww is a killer but that call from the office gives me something to look foward to and hope for. If you do HPT everyday and it's neg. that will just make you upset and have negative thoughts. Don't do it! Don't do it!!

Erin--I got mine, too--I can't believe how many needles there are!! I start Lupron on Sunday, and have estimated ER of 9/16, so a little ahead of you but not much (although if you are anything like me, that seems like forever!)

Robin, thanks for thinking of us.

MSPY--woohoo on all the follies! And, no, don't do it!!

Kristen and Avalez, you must be getting close to ER, huh?

Well, I take my last BCP tomorrow and then I have to wait for AF but they told me around 9-5 to 9-7. I am just hoping it's a bit later because

    A. I want a day off from work, I don't wanna do it on the weekend!

    B. I have a wedding on 9-6 and I already RSVP'd and I would hate to have them lose the $ for the meal and me not show up (Prime Rib YUM)

Ha! Kristen, I rescheduled mine for a wedding! I was supposed to have ER on the 9th, but have a wedding on the 13th. So now I'm kicking myself because they moved me a whole week to the 16th! Hopefully it will go by quickly...

I am feeling soooo bloated and whole lot of side effetcs (from the Gonal-F)? Main discomfort at the abdomen. I am so bloated that my tummy looks 4-5 months pregnant! On top of that, feeling very nausea plus fatigue. Is this normal?????

Alma, Please share how your us/bw went. I have mine scheduled for this Monday. I'm nervous. I've been on lupron for 10 days and the side effects are driving me nuts. DH and I are finishing the antibiotic today. It looks like we're on a similar schedule. Good luck....Fia

No idea, but a lot of REs recommend it. Electrolytes, maybe??? I'll tell you, I developed a wicked addiction to orange Gatorade during stims. Worked for me - no issues buttoning even the skinniest pants until maybe the last day (12) of stims, and then just a bit snug.

Well, girls...I had b/w and u/s this morning. I'm not progressing as fast as last time, even though I'm on more meds. It's day 7 of stims and all my follies are still under 10mm (some 8s and 9s). I'm trying not to get discouraged, but I was hoping for better news, of course. They want me back tomorrow so we'll see what the u/s measures then. I'm hoping it's just a slow, steady maturation that we have going on.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Thanks for the tip malf! RE didn't provide any useful information on how to reduce the bloating but he did said something about medication to reduce the bloating on the day of Retrieval which is another 4 days away! I'm going to get myself some gatorade!

Had my last scan today before Retrieval. RE didn't count how many follies but I can see plenty of them on the screen. The sizes already reach 18-22mm but RE only schedule me for OPU on Wednesday morning. Another 2 days of Gonal-F and HCG on Monday night (which is my last day of injection...hoooray!). Perhaps he was hoping I could mature more follicles in the next 2 additional days and hopefully we'll get more eggies to up our chances.

Praying for you to too Mia....Did your RE up your dosage?
