Just wanted to update you all. I'll have to catch up tomorrow....

We got back not too long ago. We got 11 eggs!! Dh's sperm looked good! We're making babies! They had to keep me longer because I had a "seizure" when I was coming out of the anesthesia. I could here everything they said,I was just flailing/shaking. They said it lasted about 10 minutes and then off and on for about an hour. Other than that everything went well. I do feel like I was caught in an ally and beat up and injected with tons of sodium. I'll check in better tomorrow when it doesn't hurt to sit up.

Melissa, hope you are feeling better today.

So we got the answer to the million $ question ladies!!

As I stated earlier we got 17 eggs. . .10 were mature. . .Out of that 10 he did 5 w/icsi (where he physically injects the sperm into the egg). . . the other 5 he put in a dish to let fertilize naturally.

Out of the 5 fertilized by icsi we have 4 embryos.
Out of the 5 that were to fertilize naturally, NONE fertilized...ding ding ding ding ding ding

So he went back and fertilized the natural group via icsi and we should know tomorrow if they will be embryos or not.

I certainly feel validated in spending the money on ivf as now we know for certain that the iuis were all a waste. And also I feel better knowing it was a fertilization issue and I don't have to worry that it was an implantation issue. Would love to get a couple more embryos just to have for the future, but at least I have 4.

Oh yeah, and all my itchy-ness last night was a hyper-sensitive reaction to the percocets. . only tylenol for me.

I've made a suggestion in the "Suggestions for new support Group" room regarding a room specifically for ivf. Please go and add your .02 cents.

Ohhh my!! I'm glad you're okay. Personally, I don't like the whole anesthesia thing. I started having panic attacks right before my ER. I'm sooooooo happy that you got 11 eggs. Praying that your ET is very successful.

4 embies is wonderful!!!! I am such a fan of ICSI. You are off to a good start, this is defintely your cycle for a BFP.

AFM: DH and I are really enjoying the summer. We're going out of town this weekend and at the end of the month. AF should be here next week. DH decided that we should discuss our concerns with the RE during our next protocol consultation and at least try one more time with him. I agree. So once AF arrives we will do BCP's for 3 weeks and off to IVF #2. Good Luck to everyone. It took me 15 minutes just to catch up

bmelissa - 17 eggs wow that is fabulous... you are going to do so good girl I can't wait to see the report on fert. way to go girl!!!

so you had 10 mature and half with ICSI and the others naturally awesome so 4 out of the ICSI and none out the natural. Same thing happened to me. I asked for my eggs (donor) to be fertilized naturally no ICSI and only one fertilized... then they did emergency ICSI and 3 more fert out of 7 but that is always bad so it didnt' work. but at least you got 4 good ones. I think the sperm don't like the light of the doctor's office I think you will get probably 3 with the rescue... good luck girl.

Don't think that IUI is a waste cause my dh made 6 children naturally and non in vitro so the little guys like it better inside obviously... so I think they were a good shot. Glad you are feeling better though. And hoping and praying for more embies tomorrow.. hang in there girl.

Cakegal - good luck tomorrow ;) so you got 11 eggs wow that is so good. Congrats on making babies girl. So sorry you had a seizure that's the first time I hear that?? Poor girl!

rss- so you feel bloaded etc. Well join the party. Now I can absolutly NOT hide my pregnancy anymore... but the kicking is so cute.

notstoppingme - wow august is so close you must be so exited. Can't wait to see

mominw8ting - good luck tomorrow with the folly counts

southern - Good luck with IVF no 2 and enjoy the summer in the mean time we have such nice weather.

mistyone1 - good luck with your cycle dear.

AFM - well Walmart finally gave me the cd for the photo sessions I though I was going to have to pay $200 and the little girl just handed them over to me for free?? I think she will be in big trouble tomorrow. I tried to wait and see but she seamed to just want to be done with me so I just took off That was the result of a long 2 months negotiation with the districk manager!!!

    Have a good week everyone.

Just got my fert report. Out of 11 eggs only 5 were mature. They can only do ICSI for the mature eggs. Today ,day 1,I only have 3 embryos. I'm rather devastated.

I'm sorry they weren't all mature and didn't all fertilize, but you know what? I only had 3 embryos, too, and one was pretty crappy looking, but I did get PG. So don't give up hope!!!!

    When is the transfer scheduled?

The IVF process can be so enlightening. Did your RE confirm it's a fertilization issue? I'm glad they did half with ICSI, and I hope the other last minute ICSIs work out for you. I know it's disappointing, but having 4 to work with is still GREAT!!! Are you still going to do a 5 day transfer, or speed it up some? and

Hey, 3 is good!!! I know it sounds like a big slide from 11 to 3. But All you need is (1) good one! don't be devestated. Please try to relax and stay positive. Your "babies" need you to be in good shape to take them back in. Will you put 2 or 3?

Has anyone been told they have an implantation issue? And did your RE's suggest anything additional? Just wondering. I don't know if that is my issue... but DH has great sperm and I have eggs. Now tubes opened. We just don't know why they won't stick. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Nice job on the pics! Thanks for your well-wishes. I will KUP. I have another acupuncture appointment tonight with a new woman. My acupuncturist is on vacation. So she gave me a piece of paper and told me to go see this other women (who doesn't speak english) but told me not to worry, and just hand her the paper and all will be fine. So I said, no problem. Took the paper and I will be going tonight. Should be interesting!

you know, it is kind of. It stings a wee bit. I am on Bravelle (3) and Menopur (1). And the nurse said it is ok, if the meds resist a little on the way in, and if it stings a wee bit. Best of luck with stimming. I am right ahead of you. Welcome to stimmy land.

Please say an extra special prayer for me tonight. I have my next follie check tomorrow. Praying God will bless us. After 3 years, 6 IUI's, 1 failed IVF, 1 cath tuboplasty and countless tears. Hoping for a chance this month. Please give me a chance.

    Today's update:

We currently have 9 embies. They said they are all at different stages and that, yet again, we will no more in time about which ones are the best quality, etc and they will call me by noon tomorrow if they want to do the transfer then but are hopeful to make it to a day 4 or day 5 transfer.

I'm feeling better about this today as we don't want too may but enough to do a couple of FETs in the future if this doesn't work and I feel like we got our money's worth out of the IVF, that we did all we could, etc.

    Pray for the embies!!

Oh just now seeing this. Well when my nurse called today she said that some of my eggs (7) weren't mature on the day of ER but they were able to mature in the lab and then they fertilized them. Was/Is that not a possiblity?? I didn't know it was until she said they did it and I haven't heard about the quality of any of my embies. But I went from 4 embies yesterday to 9 today. Don't count yourself out yet girl! I'm praying your 3 embryos are holding strong and healthy!!!!!

I know you are disappointed, but you are still very much in the game sister! You have 3 beautiful embabies and like Rachael said, she is proof that 3 is a good #.

Yup! I have 2 issues...implantation failure determined by a special lab panel. They have to look at your ANA, APA and natural killer cells. If anything comes back positive, they can do procedures to stabilize the environment so the embies can implant. I go through a procedure called IVIG with every transfer. It's an infusion therapy. There is another less expensive procedure, but I forgot what it's called. I am not a candidate for that one because it's not my nka cells that are the problem, it's one of the ANA factors. Anyway, your doc can have the special tests run for you to see if your stats are normal. Good news is there is a treatment!!

My lining was perfect this morning according to the sonographer. Had my lab work and paid 5k down on my cycle. Ran into one of the office staff in the elevator and she said the IVF nurse did a great job selecting my donor. She said the donor is perfect for me and a great selection. She then pretty much let me know the other recipient from June had a successful DE cycle with my donor and she has frozen embies to use later down the road should she so choose. Plus one of the other ladies had sent an email to me and said she was DYING to tell me how the other lady did, but she couldn't share that information with me. Ok, that makes two confirmations as far as I'm concerned about the other lady who used this donor. So, I'm feeling very lucky about my pick.

I got a call from IVF nurse this afternoon instructing me to continue doing 4 patches every other day and start progesterone shots tonight for 4 days. I go back on Monday for a endometrial biopsy. I guess I will call tomorrow to find out what this is for and why I have to do it. Has anyone ever had this done or heard of it? I think I'm going to ask the girls on the other website in the Donor Egg room. I had DH give me a shot, but I was never told about this part previously. The donor's meds are being shipped on 8/3 because she has to have them by 8/5 (I believe that is her 1st exam or her last day on BCP). Things seem to be suddenly moving along.

Good luck to all of the ER gals & stimmers!!

So she gave me a piece of paper and told me to go see this other women (who doesn't speak english) but told me not to worry, and just hand her the paper and all will be fine. So I said, no problem. Took the paper and I will be going tonight. Should be interesting!

notstoppingme - everything sounds so great boy what good news you got today and I think this cycle is a winner girl

cakegirl - so you have 3... funny how it's always the same you get embies and you have to devide them by half to know how many will be good and even then you loose some. I would transfer all 3 day 3 and make sure you get the best shot cause waiting day 5 might even eliminate more... but you know all you need is one so I am still praying for you girl. Hang in there ok.

    Have a good day everyone
