    Default Egg Donor

So I met with my the other clinic in SC and they have a larger database where you can go online yourself to review the available donors to make your choice on your own. They don't have pics, but they have very, very detailed information about physical characteristics of the donor & basic characteristics (height, weight, hair & eyes, age) of the immediate family (father, mother, siblings, grandparents & donors children). They also have family medical history, interests, education, blood type, hobbies, etc. They are much more expensive than my clinic, so we still have a lot to think about.

DH really likes Alicia out of California, but if it is going to be too expensive to cover her fee & travel expenses, he said we should just go with our current clinic and the donor they picked for us. Our clinic said they will work with us on any of our out-of-state choices and they can come to SC on stim day 6 or 7 of the cycle as our clinic will coordinate with a clinic near them. They are happy to go with their donor, but she agreed we had 2 excellent donors as well. I am waiting on the financial clerk to call me back today.

Meanwhile, the other clinic is blowing up my phone!!

If it's anything like the actual procedure, both of your ovaries will be sore for about 2-3 days. Will you be under local anesthesia?

    IVF #1 - 6/5 ER, 6/8 ET, 6/22 BFN
    IVF #2 - 9/30 ER, 10/3 ET, 10/14 BFN
    IVF #3 - 12/31 stims

They didn't say anything about anesthesia. That is why I am thinking it will not be that bad. When I had my HSG it was not bad except for the liquid pressure. Thaks for your input.

I was wondering if any of you could add any input on what is going on w/my ivf cycle.

I went yesterday cd 21 for b/w and u/s. It was confirmed that I had 'o'd and I was supposed to start Lupron last night. I told them I had no chance of being pg b/c of my horrible uti we had not bd at all. This entire cycle they told me I would be starting Lupron on that day.

When the nurse called last night she said the DR wanted to hold off(on lupron) in case I might have gotten pg b/c I wasn't on bcp just a non-medicated 'rested cycle' before my stims. I again told them it would be impossible, but they said for me to come back 10 days later (june 28) and that would be my baseline and I would start the lupron & stims then regardless if AF had came or not.

How could it be my baseline if AF hasn't came yet?
If AF has came before then(which it probably will) they said not to worry about calling on cd 1 just come in on the 28th as planned, but I could be on cd 5, 6, etc by then if AF comes next week, kwim?? I could already have a dominate follicle developing kwim and with ivf they want all of the follies to develop evenly at the same time w/stims.

I just don't understand how they can pick a random day to do a baseline like that??!? The calendar they gave me, which shows me on lupron as of yesterday has me going in for my ET (egg retrieval) 2nd week of July. I've got $1100 of meds sitting in the fridge and cabinet and i'm just worried about the timing of all of this.
I always worry about the timing with this RE and there is A LOT of money on the line here!!!
So sorry about your UTI - it sounds awful. I haven't been on a lupron protocol, but I do know the RE's can manipulate your cycle with meds, so maybe that is what he is going for. When in doubt call back and ask them what is happening and to explain it again because you don't understand. It's their job to make you feel comfortable and inform you what is happening.

AFM - Well yesterday was father's day and since my dh doesn't want anything the kids and I washes the van inside and out. They loved it and it is so nice we could sell it I hope it stays that way. I also got each kid a haircut cause he always bugs me about them getting a buz cut and I always say no so I though that would also be a good father's day present and he was indeed very happy. So all in all we had a great weekend. Hope you girls had a nice one too.

Glad you're doing well! I'm fine - just fighting off a cold. Glad your DH had a nice father's day!

Getting closer, cakegal!!! with your mock transfer, I'm sure it will be a breeze.

AFM - I'm in the 9 day wait now . Wish I had more to report symptom-wise than what I wrote above. The local pharmacy had a sale on HPT's today - buy one package, get one free, so I bought 2 2-packs, and that is in addition to one I had lying around, so now I have 5 waiting to POAS on!!! Now I just have to see how long I can last!

The worst part of the trial transfer is having a full bladder! It's a piece of cake. No meds, no anesthesia. All they are doing is measuring you so they have the right equipment when they do the actual transfer.

Yep, those needles sure make IVF more real...you will do fine!

So things are moving slowly for you in your 2ww, huh? That's always the case. At least you are ready with your 5 HPT's! I should start looking for sales now too!

I have a quote from my clinic on the final cost for the donor cycle there & I know the other clinic can't beat that price.

    Default We made our decision!!

Though the girls we found on our own were great matches, we decided to keep it simple and more cost controlled by going with the donor our clinic found. I notified my other candidates and the other clinic yesterday evening of our decision. I talked with other employees at our clinic and they knew right away what donor I was matched with. They were so excited that I was matched with her and described her looks & personality. They said she is gorgeous, kind hearted and super sweet. The more they told me, the more I wanted to go with this girl, so we made a decision yesterday. One girl I really trust there said our donor is by far the best donor they've had as far as her personality goes. She said this girl has the right intentions for being a donor and she is very sincere and caring. They were trying for child #3 and found her DH has issues with his sperm. They were going to have to do IVF for child #3. That is how she got into the donor program. She had planned to do a few donor cycles to save money up for an IVF cycle. They ended up adopting through the state DSS program instead, but she felt very strongly about infertility issues and wanted to help someone else make their dreams come true since she was facing the IVF journey herself. She just did a donor cycle and the recipient had her transfer a week or so ago. They will have results in another week or so. The recipient also has frozen embryos (they freeze at blast stage) from her donor cycle. They said the donor did really good with stims & they eggs were great. I am counting on us having a good number of eggs and knowing my DH, we will have plenty to fertilize (our fertilization rate was about 90% on all of our cycles).

I just got a call from Freedom Pharmacy as I am going to do a mock protocol for my transfer drugs (estrogen patches, progesterone, etc) in July once my period starts (next week). They will perfect my actual recipient protocol based on how I do with the mock protocol. I also will be picking up the donors BCP today from my pharmacy. Her meds will be ordered through my insurance next week and I will drop off her meds when I return from vacation. I'm going to be at the beach for a week starting Saturday, but I will get online to check on everyone, especially the 2wwers!!!

Congratulations, Rhonda! I'm so glad you found someone you and DH are excited about! And I think it is a great sign she is an advocate for infertility just as you are! Now you can go to the beach and enjoy your vacation, knowing you've made the right decision. Enjoy your time at the beach with your family! We'll all be waiting here for you when you return.

AFM - making my appointment this week so we can get our protocol for September (still so far away). Hope you are all doing well and looking forward to lots of BFPs here. to everyone!

Rhonda, it sounds like it's meant to be!! Everything is falling in line. I'm so happy you found this one and can get started soon. Enjoy your beach vacation!!!

AFM - making my appointment this week so we can get our protocol for September (still so far away). Hope you are all doing well and looking forward to lots of BFPs here. to everyone!
I don't know when to start my HPTs.. I was thinking Sat, which would be 9dp2dt, but I think that is TOO early, right? I should probably wait til at least Monday or Tuesday, but that is so far away!!! Test date is next Thurs, so if I have 5 HPTs, then I can start on Sun and have one for each day til the official test date. How does that sound?!?!

Yeah for getting an appointment to get started! Sending you lots of and can't wait til you get started.

AFM - I'm officially suffering from something. I think it's the progesterone and estrogen combination, as the side effects for those 2 are endless and I seem to have the worst of it. Not just the sore boobs, tiredness and backaches, but I am so extremely emotional today.. I woke up fine, but I literally just freaked out on DH about watering the garden (yelling in the garden and I think my neighbors heard), and that was after flipping off some woman that was honking (and yelling) at me today while I waited for an old man to get out of a parking spot so I could take it. Not good.. I'm suddenly stressed out and overwhelmed and have so much work to do that I can't rest.. I literally didn't stop all day today and that can't be good. WAAAHHH! I need a better day tomorrow. Sorry to complain.

Rachel the only symptom that I had with my IVF was a horrible backache so sounds very promising! My DR did say that progesterone is not really known for back aches I hope this is it for you, I had no patience I actually tested 5dp5dt

Let's hope the backache means something good.. do you know why we even get backaches? It seems illogical since whatever may be going on in there is so tiny it shouldn't cause that kind of pain. Is there a scientific explanation?

Hey! Trial transfer was a breeze! Apparently I have a rather large bladder and had to empty it a little because he couldn't see.....and it was still too full. Any way he said I was easy. I told him I most certainly was not! They also shot up a little saline just to have a look since it has been 6 months since my HSG. And then it was all over but the leaking.

Anyway, they gave me a little clearer view of the timeline. These, naturally, are just approximations:
start Lupron 6-24 *we already know this to be fact.
    start stims 7-4
    egg retrieval 7-13
    embryo transfer 7-18

I thought that transfer was going to be at least a week later! We shall see.

Hope everyone is doing well. Baby dust to all!!!!

OMG!!! Me too!!! I'm guessing the sore (.)(.)'s are from the progesterone suppositories and estradiol patch......honestly I don't know what to think. I've had chronic fatigue since Monday, literally falling asleep for 2-3 hours at a time. It got pretty humid and hot here in the midwest so maybe it's just my body's way of cooling off.
I'm trying sooooooo hard not to anaylze any phantom symptoms, it only drives you

Haha! Your DH is smart! Mine is currently not speaking to me so I'm hiding in my (home) office working. I had another screaming episode about an hour ago.. God help me.

Woke up this morning and boobs are not really that sore anymore. Usually a sign that AF is lurking. They go from extremely sore to nothing at all, and then a couple days later AF. Oh well, disappointment is never easy, but at least we can move forward knowing how my body responds to the meds. Hopefully we can retrieve and fertilize more eggs.

No, no, no!! No negative thoughts, my dear!!! It's still early and if you are becoming PG your body goes through a lot of changes and does a number on ya!! Just wait til Saturday, and if it's neg, then hold out because even that might be too early. When is your beta supposed to be?
Sending you TONS of and prayers and all that good stuff!!!
