Hi ladies, thanks for all your support.
Kristin, We have already decided not to do an egg donation cycle as there are so many children out there that already need our love. My husband was adopted. Good Luck with your cycle.

Erin, you'll be fine and stop worrying, its my age thats not to my advantage, we'll keep trying the old fashion way. Maybe I'm allergic to the meds and it will all work out great when I'm not sticking needles in myself.

I'm obviously still producing enough eggs, the quality appears to be good and the embies are excellent, maybe they just need to reared oh naturel, drug free enviroment, thats what I'm telling myself and the DH, so we'll keep practicing and in the mean time search for a special baby that needs a good mummy and daddy.

Sorry, As for the meds stopping AF that is a myth - I have been on progestrone for all my cycles and AF arrives on time 12DPO or Retrieval and the witch is right on time again.

Catch with you all soon when I've had time to heal, my brave face only lasts so long!
Thanks again for all your support and good luck to you all. I'll be thinking about you.

Default 1 BFP so far with IVF, hopefully another BFP soon!

I read all the other posts. So I thought I would post as well.

I did IVF 1x last year, which I did get a BFP, but I ended up miscarrying.

    Anyways here's my story:

In 2004 I got married, I was 22 yrs old (I think). I never in the world knew I had anything wrong with me as in infertility issues.

In 2006 I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis, through a laparoscopy.

I needed the lap July 2006) due to a cyst on my ovary. In total I've had 2 laparoscopies & 1 laparotomy done in total. With my laparotomy (August 2006) I had a pretty big cyst removed from my uterus, half of my left tube removed & half of my left ovary removed. I never imagined in my life having to need to have a laparotomy done, but I guess it needed to be done.

At my follow-up appt. after my 1st laparoscopy my dr. told my husband & I that I would need IVF to get pregnant, since only 1 & 1/2 tubes.
At the time I wasn't sure if the right tube was blocked or not.

So before starting IVF, I had an HSG test done; to see if my tubes were blocked or not. Unfortanately both tubes were blocked & I would need IVF.

So... My husband & I went to about 3 different drs. before starting IVF.

With my first IVF protocol. I was on lupron, gonal f, menopur. I have an FSH level of 11.5 (a little high for someone my age). My response to stimulation meds was pretty good, since Having a little higher FSH level. I got 7 eggs, & multiple cysts (due to endometriosis). We ended up transferring 4 embyros, 2 stuck. We used my husbands sperm, which he has poor motility & low count. I had 2-4cell, 1-3cell & 1-2cell embryos. Which wasn't that great.

I did get pregnant, my R.E. said there was about a 20-40% chance I would get pregnant. The embryos were very poorly developed. So I was very surprised I actually did get pregnant.
I had a blighted ovum, in which I started bleeding a week prior to my first ultrasound. I think was the result in loosing 1 of the babies. With the other sac, it ended up being empty. I think it was around 10 wks that I miscarried.
With the miscarriage, that was very hard for me, due to I needed IVF to get pregnant & I did get pregnant; but miscarried.

Lisa, sorry you're still feeling sick. I'm sure it'll go away soon. Just think of your beautiful babies and how very soon you'll have them in your arms, looking down at their beautiful faces.

I'm doing great, just trying to continue eating healthy and trying to get my body as ready as possible. The hardest thing has been giving up coffee. I'm also trying to relax more, I tend to be a nervous person, I stress a lot, and most of the time it's over stupid stuff. I've switched to herbal teas and believe it or not they are actually helping. Other than this, just waiting for November 12 to start again.

Thanks Fia. Picturing my lo's is what keeps me going.

Glad your doing well, and glad Nov 12 is fast approaching. I really understand about having to give up coffee. I was a big diet coke fan and now (when I can drink diet coke) have had to switch to caffeine free. I drink hot tea too. Actually, I read peppermint tea and spearamint tea help with nausea so I tried the peppermint and it did help some. I used to be a nervous person who stressed a lot over nothing too. I read A New Earth and turned me around on a lot of things. You keep up the preparation and I will keep praying.

RE did an ultrasound to look at the follies again, they grew a little more since yday, all nice and plump. Even the left had one growing up, but it's still not as big as the ones on the right. She said right side is where "all the action are".

DH came in with me to the room for IUI, it's nice to have him around for support, though he didn't hold my hand like Erin's DH . RE came in to the room smiling and was very happy with the SA. She said the sperm count was very high, and they had all high motility.

Pre-washed is 97million, not sure about all the other numbers. But she said that they're all very charged up, and after washing they're even more "super-charged" as she puts it. i asked about the morphology and she said she usually isn't concern with that post wash.

The IUI process was really simply and not at all painful (thanks Erin for the extra vibes!). i didn't even know when she inserted the catheter. My RE said that since i'm responding so well to the meds even with low dosage, she's fairly confident that the chances of me getting pregnant will be high. And even if the IUI fail, she'll keep me on the same plan.

So overall, i came out feeling really happy and excited. Though i won't try to get hopes too high, since i know it's not always 100%. After coming home, i called the office again to see if they can give me the exact numbers of the SA. The nurse told me that they can give me the report the next time i go in. But she said the numbers were EXCELLENT, and when she looked through the microscope after washing, she was surprised at the count. She said they went from 90+ mill to over 200 mill after washing. Is that even possible?? Nurse said they all "woke up" after washing!

But anyway, my next appt is on 11/4 for progestrone check, and then 11/11 for beta. This 2ww will be dragginggggg!!

to everyone~ hope we get our BFP's soon

Well, BFN for me yesterday for my second month of IUI. I'm just so frustrated and depressed. I don't understand what the problem is. I do realize though that it's technically only been one good cycle, cause my first one the clomid dosage was too low. I'm just sick of spending money with no success, and the heartache afterwards. I guess we'll see what happens next month.

Called RE today, I was up until 1 this morning throwing up. I could hardly eat today and getting pretty weak. I have to go in for bloodwork tomorrow to see if I am getting too much hormones from meds I am on. I am on Vivelle patch which I have to change every forth day, Estradiol tabs three times a day and progesterone injections once a day. RE says my body may now be producing enough of its own hormones and meds are now too much and if so could be contributing to why I am so sick. Blood work will tell. Regardless, they say we have to do something to help me be able to eat and keep it down once I do.

    Thanks, Lisa!

I hope you get some answers with your bloodwork!

Sorry for the bfn. I got my injectibles from Walgreen's speciality pharmacy that ships overnight and it was about $350. I had Repronex and the trigger.

I'm sorry about the BFN, Alli. The cost of injectables will depend on the protocol/dosage. If you responded well to Clomid, you will probably start at a lower dosage (maybe even a combination of clomid & injectables which is the least expensive.) My injectables cost a couple thousand $ (I have no insurance coverage for fertility) but I am many years older than you so I need more meds. My RE has mentioned that Freedom & Ascend can have good prices, but you can call around and decide where you want to get your Rx. Good Luck next time!!
