Sorry I'm a little late in posting this...posting from my phone is a hassle.
My last pre-natal appt was on Thursday morning and I was 4cm dilated at that time. The doctor swept my membranes since I hadn't been feeling any contractions earlier in the week and was anxious to get the show on the road. I saw my acupuncturist at 2pm that same day to also try and get things moving. It worked!
I was crampy and uncomfortable for most of Thursday but nothing I could really call contractions until about 2:30am Friday. Decided around 4:30 that it was time to make our way to the hospital. Got checked around 6am and was 5cm with bulging bag of water. Asked for the epi and had to wait about an hour since someone beat me to the punch. Doc checked me around 7am I think and I was 8cm. Doc checked again at just before 9 and I was still at 8cm with bulging water...decided to break my bag and recommended a 'whiff' of pitocin to get things moving. By the time the nurse came back with the pitocin I was complete and ready to push so didn't need the pitocin. Pushed for 10 minutes while my husband & the doc discussed singing 'Let it go' from Frozen. They're lucky I have a good sense of humor. ;)
Miss Lily Margret arrived Friday, July 18th at 9:24am...6lbs 15 oz and 20"
She is such a sweetheart!
