    Default Cancer in an infant

Went to the dr on Wednesday and found out they are pretty sure DD has neuroblastoma cancer but a good prognosis so far! So she needs prayer and also I was wondering if anyone has say experience with having a baby with it or knows anybody that did..

A cancer diagnosis is always scary. I am SO glad that the prognosis is good, though! I don't have any experience with it, but wanted to tell you I prayed for her, you, your family and the doctors. I hope some others can give you some advice and experience.

Thank you for the prayers! We went to a GI specialist because she has some reflux and wasn't gaining weight.. Well the GI specialist wanted to do an ultrasound on her spine because she had a sacral dimple on her lower back... Well that came back perfectly fine but while they were looking at her spine they saw a mass on her adrenal gland above her left kidney so we stayed in the hospital that night and they did a CT scan and said it's about the size of a pecan.. But that sometimes this cancer can go away on it's own and that they caught it early so that gives us an even better chance of it not returning! So we got to the oncologist in 3 weeks again and hopefully she has gained weight and the tumor will have shrunk but if not they will do surgery on her to remove it and hopefully be able to get it all!

No experience at all but, I will be thinking of your precious daughter every single day. I couldn't imagine how hard it is/ will be for you. I am relieved to hear for your family that her prognosis is good.

Oh Kaylee I'm so so so sorry to hear this, how scary !!

I'm extremely glad the prognosis is good, but how hard to have to watch your LO go through so much ...my heart is with you and I'm praying praying praying for no complications and a speedy recovery ! Praise God they found it and it's getting taken care of now !!

A friend of mine's dd had a neuroblastoma in her eye when she was 12-15ish months old. She has recovered completely and is doing fantastically (she's 5yrs old now and just a ray of sunshine ).

    Thinking of you Kaylee !!!

Oh Kaylee! Huge hugs. I'm glad it was discovered so early. God bless. I will pray for her quick recovery. I know a lady who is a child cancer survivor. Forgot what she had but she is well into her 30s now and has 4 children. Her blog is mamasmiles.com and she mentioned her story there plus more.
Please update us often on your situation. May your little one recover quick! !!

    So sorry to hear this

A girl I went to HS with daughter had this cancer. I believe the doctor was just doing a normal check up and felt a large tumor in her abdomen when she was 2ish months? She had it removed and also needed chemo but she is doing well now. Ashley (the baby's mom) and her husband are pretty involved in the neuroblastoma community. If you want I can Facebook message her and see if she would be okay with you emailing her with questions? Let me know. I'm praying for your family and your baby

Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers! We really appreciate them! She threw up last night but I think it's from the reflux she has :-/ going to go get her weighed tomorrow and hopefully she has gained some weight cause she hasn't gained much since she was born :-/ which they think is because of the tumor..

Jessiebee-thank you that would be great if I could email her or something.. Only as long as she truly doesn't mind though!

Kelly- I'm glad to hear your friends daughter is better! Oh and I'm soo excited for you! Been praying for you!

DD has slept sooo much the last 2 days :-/ she is 2 months today! but the sleeping so much worries me a little since she has the tumor :-/she has her 2 month checkup with her regular doctor and vaccines scheduled for tomorrow and I'm really hoping she has gained some weight because she really needs to and I'm hoping they don't make her sick but her oncologist said it was ok for her to get her vaccinations.. So just praying it goes good tomorrow.. I'm soo very very ready for the 15th to get here so we can find out if her tumor has grown or shrunk..
