Default Did I just have a miscarriage?

About a month ago I started on birth control pills and half way through I experienced spotting. Worried that I might be pregnant I took a test and it came up negative. Later I started to experience bleeding while still taking the pill, I thought it was my period. I experienced sever abdominal pain and bleeding. Then later what seemed to be some type of bodily tissue then was released out through my vagina. The pain has now gone away. I was scared though because I had never experienced this, and wondering if I should see a doctor.

It is normal to have all sorts of stuff happen when you start birth control pills. In fact, when I take birth control pills I cramp, spot and bleed all month long. You can always call your doctor to see what they suggest but as long as the pain is over I would not personally worry.

Since you had a negative pregnancy test, I am also doubtful that you had a miscarriage. You should have had a positive pregnancy test when you tested if you passed any tissue related to pregnancy.

    I agree with this.

I agree with Jessica, hormonal birth control can really mess with your body. Since you had a negative pregnancy test, and your symptoms have gone away I wouldn't worry too much about it. Though I'd say if it happens again, you may want to talk to your doctor about it, to see if maybe you need a different pill. Good luck!
