    Default Cheryl/Woodsy update thread

I thought it was about time I started an update thread!
I started ttc in November 2013 and got pregnant in December, but unfortunately it was a blighted ovum and I miscarried at 7 weeks. We took a month off and then got pregnant two months later. I am currently 16w5d and everything has been going great this time! My initial betas were doubling every 36 hours and we saw a heartbeat at 6weeks. My first tri screen tests all came back normal and we found out it is a baby boy
I am super excited for the anatomy scan on Aug 15 and am even more anxious to start feeling him move. Should be soon now!
I am having issues posting pictures and hopefully will get it figured out soon. I use a surface rt tablet which sometimes has issues with certain tasks. I can't post from my phone either

Ugh... I had some light bleeding today while using the bathroom. This happened a few weeks ago and I was checked out with a sono and everything was fine... nurse didn't say for sure what caused it but that it was likely just an irritated cervix. Today looked exactly the same as last time, so I am trying to stay calm about it especially since it happened this morning and there has been no issue since. Any blood during pregnancy is so unwelcome, as if we don't have enough to obsess and worry over!

Hoping the bleeding has stopped for you. Any bleeding during PG is enough to drive us nuts!!

Yes, thankfully the bleeding was short lived. It really seems to be a cervix irritation and nothing serious. I am going to bring it up with the specialist I see this Friday while I am in for the 18 week anatomy scan. She is wonderful and I know I can trust her opinion.

That said, I am getting to be a little less than enthusiastic about my regular ob office. The doctors are nice enough, but I don't like that I am always seeing a different one (they have 6 in the practice). I am also surprised that they have not really given me any information about things that I should or should not be doing (aside from take a prenatal and don't eat lunch meat or take drugs... seriously, that has been it). I look into all of this information on my own, but I would think they should be providing this info to all pregnant women.

Yesterday was the big anatomy scan and baby looked great!
After the initial scan, the doc came in and did a second scan to check a few things out. No major issues, but he suggested I start low does aspirin because my uterine artery has a little too much tension. I am not crazy about taking pills during pregnancy, but he said low dose is safe. Due to my bicorneate uterus, he wants me to come back in 2 weeks to check cervix length and baby growth. I may have to do this from now on. Baby was right on track for size and cervix length was also good at around 4, but since bc uterus gives a higher risk of preterm labor he wants to keep an eye on it. I find this very assuring because my regular OB (at least the doc I saw the last couple of times) is pretty dismissive about it and doesn't think I need any additional monitoring. It probably will be fine, but I like having the extra peace of mind from regular checks.

The best part of the visit was that I felt the baby move! The past few days I thought maybe I felt him but maybe it was just a muscle spasm. Seeing it on the screen while feeling it was pretty confirming! Today he has been very active and I just love it

I had to google bicorneate uterus. Very interesting stuff...Glad they are going to keep a close watch on you! That is always so comforting. Congrats on a healthy baby boy

I had a sono on Thursday to check baby's growth. He is right on track and estimated to be 1lb 1oz! Cervix length looked good, so no issues so far from my bicorneate uterus. I go back in two weeks for another sono and an echo of baby's heart. Dr is not worried about anything, but they have not been able to get sufficient images of the heart for the last 3 scans so she wants to do the more advanced test. If all looks good at 24 weeks, I will be done with the specialist's office and just be seeing my regular OB. This is a good thing, although the extra monitoring has helped reduce my anxiety about issues arising so I will miss the reassurance.
