    Default BIG news!

My Sonogram appointment this morning went amazingly well but also revealed a big surprise.

    I am pregnant with TWINS!!!!

Two little ones, with two strong heart beats. Baby A with a heartbeat of 172 and Baby B with a heartbeat of 155. We saw Baby A right away and then I heard the doc say "Hmm! Two for the price of one!". Having known my OB for almost 20 years, (my Aunt Kathy is a nurse at his practice), I thought he was kidding and I laughed it off. Then my aunt started pacing the room nervously. I looked at the doc, looked at DH, and i said "Tell me you are kidding." Doc was all smiles and said that he was serious as a heart attack. He showed me baby A, then showed me baby B hiding behind. Two babies, in separate sacs, healthy and measuring around 8wks & 4days.

Today was to the say the least, shocking and exciting. DH and I are over the moon. But also nervous because of all the worries that come with twin pregnancies. I will be monitored closely, but next appointment isn't until June 3rd. Doc is confident and happy and so am I. AHHHHH!!!!! What's a girl to do!!!!

I can say I had a feeling something was very different this time around. A handful of times I've talked out loud to my mom and husband about how I thought there was twins because of how bad I feel already. And how everything seems heightened. But never in a million years did I think it was a real possibility. I guess you should just trust your instincts!!

Doc says he prefers to induce at 37 weeks with twins, so that would put me around Thanksgiving. But he's 100 percent supportive of vaginal delivery as long as lead baby is in position. That was nice to hear but we'll see.

My doctor is really supportive of vaginal too! She has my 40 week due date as Nov 14 so I have a feeling they are coming on October 27... Our 2 year wedding anniversary! Have you announced yet?

Congratulations from one twin momma to another! I remember the shock when we found out . . . that wasn't until 14wks, and I was kind of glad for that since it meant a few weeks where I wasn't worrying about two babies instead of just one.

Because my first son was born by emergency C-section, I had my twins by scheduled C-section at 37w5d (they totally would have cooked longer if we'd let them!), so going full term is certainly possible. Just take it easy as much as you can. And get the book "When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads." It really helped me through my twin pregnancy.

Announcing today on Facebook Jessie, we are just SO excited and can't wait another minute. Made all the proper phone calls right away, and our families are just elated. Except both of our Fathers were like "Oh...your life is over." lol PLUS, we could use all the prayers possible. So I am all for having the support of everyone I know.

Here is my announcement, I went ahead and put November because that is the most likely. Doc is convinced the babies are closer to 9 weeks along:

Nope! Not one either side. So this is quite a surprise to everyone in our families. Someone made the joke yesterday that I am getting older and "All of my eggs are jumping ship." lol

Doing lots of praying and reflecting. Hoping that both babies stick for the long haul and are healthy. That's all I can do for now. The shock of twins is wearing off and the worries are setting in.

Next Appointment isn't until June 2nd, and we have the Nuchal Translucency on June 5th. That will be an exciting week and it can't get here soon enough.

We did fertility meds and I've always wanted twins (I'm a twin and they run in my family), but when it became a real possibility I started to feel a little panicky and then a little relieved when there was only one, lol . I'd love to have two babies, but I know I'd likely be a nervous wreck throughout the pg...it's good to remember though that most twin pgs are uncomplicated . Sending you lots of T&PS and !!!

I'm so glad you and Jess have each other...that has to help to have someone else on the same journey !
