Sounds like my periods before I got pregnant - I am dreading my first pp period. I hope it lets up for you soon and it's only because it was your first one.

Looking for a house can be so frustrating, especially when inventory is low. You just have to be quick and drop everything to go see a house the day it comes on the market, although those cash offers mess up everything. It's a crazy competitive market here in San Diego and we had similar problems when we were buying just a couple of years ago. Good luck, hopefully that perfect home will become available to you soon!

So AF came on heavy but it didn't last. This morning I awoke to no flow at all - no spotting or anything. So AF only lasted three days total.

The house situation is a bit better. One seller accepted our offer. We are waiting for the other one but they are on vacation. We will likely go with the one who accepted our offer even though it is not our best option. We will know by noon today on that.

My work situation is still hectic. I am waiting it out, though. Can't put in my notice until the loan paperwork is done. Ugh!

Elek is doing great! Smiles all the time now.

So the house situation is still up in the air. Our house selling is still fine but still awaiting the appraisal. I guess the appraisal companies are stretched thin with the booming home market. Anyway, the house we really want is still undecided if they want to sell to us. The husband is very adamant that he get what he wants. We offered what they were asking but wanted them to pay closing. He doesn't want to pay for anything. However, the home is not new (built in 1996) and needs some upgrades. The carpet is bad, it is coming loose and will need to be replaced. It also needs a new paint job. We are having to pay the closing costs of the people who are buying from us (this was the deal anyway) so we kinda wanted to avoid that. However, our options are limited. Every house we want gets bid out from under us. Their realtor told our realtor that they had another contract coming in but said he would tell them no if we agreed to not pay closing costs. He says we can put it on the table later after the inspection because he thinks the owner will not want to pay to fix things. We agreed. We will hear what the couple says this morning (I hope).

Meanwhile, we have not started packing or anything. I was considering hiring a local moving company but my DH is against it. Anyone ever hire a moving company? I have experience with them but via the military so I don't know how much they cost and those moves were always long distance. This is only a move of 36 miles. I figured if the price was right it may make it less of a headache but then again who knows.

I was told at work that I am suppose to take over the testing coordinator position this summer. When I was hired I was told I didn't have to worry about that but the woman who hired me is long gone and everyone is quitting (most of the teachers are leaving and we still have no director). I would normally just suck it up but the week they need me is the week we are moving! IDK what to do. I can't quit yet because I need the job to get the loan, but I want to quit and get the heck out of there before it gets any worse. At least my new temporary boss is getting less irritating. She gave me a hug yesterday because I finally broke down in tears about everything. She showed me she has a heart at least.

As for my health, I think my BP is still high but I can't be sure because I don't have a BP cuff. Yesterday while running my leg started stinging and I stopped to look at it and there was this large, bulging bluish spot about the size of a quarter. It was hard to the touch and very tender. My first thought was that it was a varicose vein and I freaked out thinking I would have to go to the dr. I put ice on it and elevated my leg. A few hours later all that was left was a tender bruise. So IDK what the heck it was or what happened but it seems weird. I have been tired since having my extra heavy AF so I think I may be slightly anemic again. I stopped taking the iron pills but am wondering if I need them again?

I wonder if I can get my part-time status extended since BP is still high?

We have moved several times, and hiring professional movers the last two times we moved was worth every penny! I highly recommend it. The wardrobe boxes they provide for your closets are a lifesaver and you can literally dump your entire closet into the bottom of the boxes with your clothes hanging on the rack above. Plus they move everything so fast, it's the best. I've hired them to move less than 5 miles before and it was so worth it. Good luck

Oh gosh, how stressful! Huge hugs. Would a pharmacy let you check your BP? You might also want to invest into a simple BP machine since you have problems with it.

Hope you can get the housing situation figured out soon. I don't understand why they don't want to pay closing costs in general the seller pays those. When we bought the seller paid closing plus fixed what we asked which wasn't much. We offered nearly 20k less than asking and they took it. Our realtor was shocked but I think they took it because they had moved out of state for work and had been renting it. It needs some fixing but overall we got a good deal.

I have never heard that the seller usually pays closing but then again it is what we are having to do. When I bought my other house with my ex I don't recall doing that but I was not really involved in it.

The house we wanted we got but I have still not seen the signed contract so I am hesitant to celebrate. I am not sure if it is much of a good deal but at least we got one we liked. Now if only our home would get appraised so we know if the price will stick. My DH did some digging and found out the bank forgot to order the appraisal.

Yeah. Time sure does fly by doesn't it?

Turns out Elek is a lot like DD was when she was a baby without the colic that is. He is very quiet and observant. And he will not fuss if his diaper is wet or soiled. He will just sit in it. This morning when I went to change him he had soaked through his diaper and his swaddle. This has happened three times this week! The boy just doesn't care. DD was the same. She would sleep for five or six hours and only wake when hungry. She didn't care how wet or dirty she was. lol

    Happy Memorial Day!

We finally got the signed contract from the sellers. Now I just gotta get the ball rolling on the loan paperwork, etc. I start back to full-time this week so not sure how I will find the time to do everything. But I am excited about the new house. It is bigger than our current home and has less of a yard to keep up with it. It backs to huge trees and what they call a "wash" where the water flows when we get heavy rains (which is almost never these days). There are huge oaks in the yard making it nice and shady. Also they have a sprinkler system so no more hoses and sprinklers to move about. Of course we won't have as much outdoor space but I won't miss that too much. I can always visit my mom for that. lol The current owners did not fence their whole yard so we are going to expand it to its actual boundaries and add a garden. There is a lot to do on the inside, too - paint, flooring, kitchen appliances/counter tops, little odd jobs here and there. Wednesday we will find out what the inspection brings. Hopefully it doesn't need a new roof! I am also nervous about the closing date. It doesn't give us much time to move in. Guess we will figure that all out when it gets down to the end. Maybe we can close earlier.

Elek has a runny nose today. It is nothing major but I suspect he is reacting to the weather and high pollen from recent rains. My Mom is all congested from allergies and has been for a week. My daughter is coughing from it but that is all. I feel fine (knock on wood). I think Elek has an appointment tomorrow (they haven't called to remind us) so will ask his pedi about his runny nose if he still has one.

Elek is eating a ton of food lately. I think he eats 1.5 containers of the formula we make (more than 30oz). He is still only eating about 4oz at a sitting though, which is good. He is also not spitting up as much and is sleeping more. I think he is between growth spurts now. I don't like that he will be getting his vaccinations tomorrow but I know he needs them. Too many people we associate with don't believe in vaccines and I do not want to risk him being exposed to something like whooping cough or worse. I'm not trying to start a vaccination debate, though. lol He will be getting five vaccinations I think. Yuck.

Oh and is anyone else getting postpartum acne breakouts? For some reason since last week I have had horrible acne (like teenage acne!). My face was so clear and pretty and now, bleh! I think I have it under control now, though. The week before last, when I started having problems, was my first week back to work and I was stressing big time. I also had AF come back. The acne spots were coming up on my chin and so that is normal for around AF for me. But I also got some on my cheek. So it could have just been that too much was happening all at once and it came out on my face. I noticed my face has been dryer than usual so I have been slathering my face with cream before bed and this morning I look better and the spots are diminishing. What is weird though is that I got some spotting today and I have not had AF since last Wednesday. ? Is this normal?

Congrats on the contract! Hope you manage to get the loan approved soon.
I am pro vaccine but I wouldn't vaccinate until runny nose situation is over since it could be a cold and it is not good for immune system to be overloaded with that and shots. But that's me!
For me spotting both times was up to 3 months. It was due to the scar having a slight internal hemmoraging. I would ask the doctor about it.
Really wish you are done with everything soon and can quit!

Elek had his two month well baby appointment yesterday. He got all his shots on schedule because he did not show any indication of having caught a cold. He did not like the shots, of course, and turned the darkest shade of red and let out the loudest howl I have heard since his birth. He was a grumpy baby all evening as well. I finally gave in and gave him some Tylenol and he fell asleep. This morning he was better but still somewhat cranky.

Elek's stats were good. He is 10.5lbs now and 21in. He jumped percentiles in head circumference from 25% to above 50%. That is what DS1 did as well and he still has a big head. LOL His height is only at 25% and his weight is right around 50%. She called him shorty. lol But Elek is still very short as well so I think perhaps they will have late growth spurts since DH is 6ft and both BIL's are above 6ft. DD is pretty tall for her age group - 80th percentile.

Not that I really care how big Elek is, just that he did grow and is healthy. My dr was very excited to hear that we make our own formula and told us we should market the recipe. I told her it wasn't ours. lol She was impressed at how well our children have done on it - all very healthy, etc.

Glad he is doing well! I also wouldn't worry about height as later in life there will be a summer or 2 where he will jump up in height!

    Very true!

Elek hit 2 months old yesterday. Since he has been eating so much we had to upgrade to a bigger bottle. Now he gets a 9oz bottle at feedings and he eats all but 1-2oz of it. I also upped the nipple from 0mo to 1mo flow and he is much happier now that he is getting more.

As for me, my recovery from birth seems to be over but I know my body still needs time to readjust and it can take up to 18mo for that (cycles regulating, hormones stabilizing, etc). I have been following the clean eating diet more strictly for the past week (I tried to eat "clean" through my pregnancy but failed and gave into sugar and fat too much). I guess it is working because I lost inches in my waist and hips. I even bought the book by Tosca Reno on clean eating to make sure I am doing it right. My kids are also eating like me and so far they are less grouchy.

    Yay, 2 whole months!!!
Glad to hear you are doing well. I am so bad with following diets - I never had patience for them and I always thought about "what if I fall off the wagon - then how?". So instead I just tried cutting down on stuff instead of completely excluding them plus exercising. I might need to get onto some diet after birth and recovery as I physically feel all the extra weight and it is not comfortable for me.

Not much to report yet. Lots going on in my life still. My DD graduated Kindergarten on the 3rd and my brother graduated high school last night. Today my DH and my two older kids left for NM on a road trip. I am going to start packing while they are gone.

Here is a recent photo of Elek. He is going through a major growth spurt right now. He spits up from over eating and all his blankets and clothes get soaked in a matter of hours. Hoping this is over soon. lol He stays awake most of the day now, which is nice because he sleeps better at night.

Thank you. He is a little darling. Last night we went out to celebrate my brother's high school graduation and he sat in his car seat smiling at me the whole time. lol

Little update on the house/move. DH and our two oldest left on their road trip yesterday morning. It has been nice to have near quiet in the house. Elek is easy and is enjoying the one-on-one time. I have gathered boxes from friends and family and have enough to pack up most of a room or two. I plan to start with the walls today. Thankfully my job had lots of left over newspaper for packing, so will likely get all the walls done quick. Then I am going to pack up DDs room except for necessities.

Our house appraisal was done but I have not heard anything on it yet. The person who appraised it was confused about some things and so ordered a new land survey be done. That was done last Wednesday so I am surprised I have not heard back about it. Hoping it appraises on target so we don't have to return to the table on the offer. The inspection was done on the house we are buying and it came back clear. The water heater may need to be replaced but nothing serious showed up. We found out there are two a/c units which is good and that the owner was an hvac specialist before he retired so they are likely in very good condition. They are going to move out of the house early so we can start moving in.

I have a work dilemma still. They want me to be testing coordinator for the summer tests which are held July 7-11. I was not planning on being at my job then. However, I can't put in my notice when I want because our closing date is June 27. The loan officer suggested I wait and put in my notice that day because he said they will call the confirm employment that week. My work wants to train me on June 19 for testing coordinator and I am suppose to order tests, etc. What I want to do, though it is not nice, is put in my 1 week notice on June 27th after we close. That means my last day would be the next week, July 4th. I get the week of June 23rd off (paid) and then would return to work for a few days and get July 4th off as well (paid). They want 2 weeks notice but if I put in two weeks I have to test. Not a job I want to do. BUT I feel bad doing that to my new interim boss (who I now really like). She will be stuck with doing my job if I am not there. I spoke with her about it briefly and she understands that I may not be there. She is hoping to not be there, too, though. lol

Another thing, I only work half of the month of July and get the last week and a half off (paid). If I stay the week I want to leave then I get paid vacation after that. I also get to say on my resume that I have coordinated testing before. It may be worth it, but then I will have to commute a long distance the whole time. The commute will take about 1hr 15min. Yuck!

WWYD? I keep stalling. I really don't like the idea of staying but there are some good pros to it.

Sorry you have such a dilemma! I think I woups stay as with the loan and move having long commute for 2 weeks is not that horrible. My concern would be of course the child care. If your mom can watch Elek then you'll be settled. But see whether it is worth it or not. Talk you to your husband. How does he truly feel about it?
I hope your appraisal comes through soon!

Yeah the childcare would be difficult. My Mom can watch all three and I would need her to but I would have to commute to her house with them and then on to work. Yuck. Just thinking about doing that makes my neck stiff. lol

My DH just says, "I know you'll do the right thing". lol I don't think he cares one way or the other.

Sounds like it's going to be a PITA, is it worth the extra money? If not, don't do it.

Will your total commute (there AND back) be 75 minutes? If that's the case, it's not really THAT bad in the world of commutes. If it's 75 minutes each way, yeah, that's not great.

Definitely a PITA. My commute one way is 75min, so yeah, very long drive to be doing 5 days a week.

Today I am fed up with all the stuff they are piling on me to do. I really, really want out of being the testing coordinator now.

Thanks, Brandi. He is always smiling and cooing now.

This morning when I took Elek to my Mom's she was holding my sister's baby (he is one month older). Turns out my sister just dropped him off with her without notice and now my Mom has two LOs to watch all day. She immediately complained how my sister won't give her notice, won't pay and then comes to pick him up late without calling to give her warning. She has told my sister she will watch her baby for $10/day but then charges me more for mine. I called her on it and told her I will pay her $10/day this week then. lol But I felt bad for her this morning because of what my sister did. It is likely to continue if my Mom allows it. I asked my Mom what she would do the next few weeks when she is watching all three of my kids. Would she take my sister's baby, too? Because she won't be able to handle that many kids. She said she wouldn't but I highly doubt that.

Work is better now. My workload is less now and my boss has lightened up. Whew! I even get to go home a bit early every day.

Oh and I forgot to add that my clean eating diet is making a huge difference on how I feel and look. In total since starting the diet three weeks ago I have lost 1.5in from my waistline. That means I am .5in less than when I got pregnant! I am also sleeping better and my mood is much more stable. The food I am cooking is also sooooo good! I am using the Eat Clean Diet Cookbook by Tosca Reno and the few recipes I have made this week have been superb! Last night it was Portobello Mushroom Pasta. I am now a fan of edamame.

Sorry to hear about your mom and sister dilemma. And how strange that you get charged more. Hope all works out well when all 3 of yours are under her watch.

Update on house situation. Our house (the one we are selling) appraised at what we wanted/needed it to except they want us to fix a window the inspector broke when he tried to force it closed. I am refusing to order a new bottom section of the window and yesterday DH just replaced it with the lower section from a window in the garage. Am hoping the will do. The buyer's are getting a VA loan so I guess they are pickier. Anyway, we will see if they accept that. My logic is 1. the inspector broke it and 2. the garage window does not need a double pane low e window in the first place. If they say no then I am going to request we get to stay in the house through the month of July. Right now both houses are set to close on the 27th of June and the new owners are chomping at the bit to move in but we can't get out fast enough for them. I hate feeling rushed so I really, really want to stay longer and get time to move out.

Plus staying longer would help me avoid a long commute. I decided to stay at my job through July because I will get 2.5 weeks paid vacation. I was also told they are going to eliminate my position so if I stay and wait for them to give me my letter I can apply for unemployment. So staying makes more sense than going. My DH agrees so hopefully we get to stay in our house longer.

Elek is going through a growth spurt. The boy is growing like a weed! We are about to go into size 2 diapers.

I am glad everything worms out for you and job situation is something that is sort of self-resolving! I hope buyers either settle with your deal or let you stay through July!
Yay to good growth! Almost 3 months - unbelievable! !!!
