    Default At home monitoring

Anyone else own a Doppler? I bought mine on eBay after my first loss to monitor at home. It doesn't change the outcome unfortunately but it does ease my mind.

Pregnancy 2-6 I could pick up baby HB at just over 7weeks on the LCD screen ( no sound though ) and pregnancy 3-5 I got full on sound heartbeat at 9weeks. I use mine until I get consistent movement around 16-18 weeks.

I can't wait to check in a couple weeks! I feel much more confident this pregnancy being on progesterone.

    I have a doppler...excited to use it in a couple weeks !! The earliest I've gotten a hb is 8wks 6d .

I agree, it's so reassuring to be able to check on baby !

I've been thinking it would be nice to have one, but at the same time I'm worried it would just make me overly paranoid.

Brittany...that is awesome you can hear it so early! What kind of doppler do you have? Does it have a 2mhz or 3mhz probe?

I would like to use one, but everywhere I look they're pretty pricey. No losses, but it would be nice especially when baby isn't kicking.

Honestly, I think that DH wants this more than I do, not saying I don't want to get one, but he is so impatient and wants to know everything now.....May be getting one sooner or later....not 100% on that yet tho.

I paid $90 on eBay, it was listed as hardly used and still a whole tube of u/s gel. I used Sani wipes when I got it and have loved it since. When I run out of u/s gel I use aloe Vera (tip!! For those who have one). My OB knows I have it and she gave me a half used gel from her office with Brooke's pg. I thought that was nice.

Popping in from April. I got one for this pregnancy and I loved it. Mine was $25 off eBay and the brand is angelsounds. I could hear heartbeat at around 10 weeks I think and it came with a tube of stuff. I used it every other day and a couple times lately when she has been quiet on me. It's more reasurring than anything and it was such a great price!

I got one off Amazon when I was pregnant with Alice. After two miscarriages it was a real sanity saver. I pulled it out after our crappy appointment the other day. I'm picking up something registering around 122, but not sure what it is (it's really too early...)

Mine is a 2mhz too (I used 3mhz with past pgs which is supposed to be better for early detection)...I'm 7wks tomorrow, haha, going to have to start trying to hear something !!

    Aelith...I'd say that's baby !!

122 seems like baby to me.... Blood flow (for me) normally picks up at 180-200 if I recall.

I suggest first checking your hb (probably in the 60-80s), then finding blood flow (lower abdomen toward the hips perhaps) and once you see those numbers check for baby.

Oh my word...I heard our baby's hb with my doppler !! I heard it briefly on Saturday at exactly 7wks, but couldn't hold it long enough to get a count. I'm 7wks 2d today and got a count of 138 !

I am over the moon ...sooo thankful to have the reassurance that my little one is doing just fine *happy tears*!

Like full on sound heartbeat!?!?!?! Amazing

Today has not been good for me I just feel nothing pg wise. I would love to use my Doppler but it would literally do nothing right now. I never have extreme symptoms but at this point I normally would have some hints. Trying not to overanalyze. My fatigue is even gone. I just feel normal.

I had my first OB appointment, they tried to do a doppler on me, but they couldn't hear anything but my stomach growling..... so, a doppler won't work for a while....lol

Yup, my doppler doesn't have a display function so I just have to listen and count .

really praying everything is just fine with your little bean...I hate all the anxiety and not knowing in the early weeks . I'm sorry you're not feeling pg...I didn't feel pg at all until I hit 6wks and even now I have times I feel completely normal. I totally get the over-analyzing too...thinking of you♥

Brittany, I didn't have symptoms at 3w3d, either. I started to get some breast sensitivity around middle of week 4 and I didn't start getting nauseated until closer to week 6. The symptoms will come!

Tried finding baby today on Doppler... 10 mins, no luck! It's okay, I think it's normally more like 7w4d before I pick anything up on LCD screen. Heart beats are not a problem for me/my babies so it doesn't worry me at all. Hopefully a few more days and I will be able to pick something up!

Yay!!!!!! Took me some effort. I have a tilted uterus so I had to dig into my right hip and then point the probe down and in (I figured right side was my best bet because my lower abdomen is more tender there). My hr was 64, and arterial blood flow was 235 so this beautiful 117 is baby! Low came in at 109 and the highest was 125, but the little solid heart in the right corner gives the average.
