Looks great Kelly!
I actually woke up feeling better today so I think it was either a virus or maybe my immune system responding to the flu/pneumovax shot. I sure felt horrible for a few days ...lol, just glad to be back to the normal pg ickies again
Ugh, crazy stuff...just glad to be plain 'ol pg feeling again!
woohoooo, 7wks preggo today!!!!!
I'm going to cancel the u/s I have scheduled on Wednesday with my RE...just feeling really good about everything and I'll be setting up my first prenatal during Thursday's phone appt with the MFM nurse. I'm thankful for my RE and have had a good experience overall, I'm just ready to leave ttc behind me. As far as I'm concerned this is a successful pg and I want to move on so I can stop feeling in limbo. Seeing a hb really clinched it for me emotionally and I think making the break with my RE will solidify it .
yay 7 weeks! Ya, why overdue the u/s. You will have one during your first prenatal anyway right? It sounds like this pregnancy is going good symptom wise I would just go off that! Yay Kelly!
I woke up last night to use the potty and was spotting brown. I think it's either the vag and cervical irritation from the YI or bleeding from that blood clot...my RE said I might spot a little from it. I got my doppler out this morning to reassure myself that everything was fine...took awhile, but I finally found the hb and only listened long enough to be sure it was baby so I didn't get a count. It sounded perfect though...huge relief !!!!!
Diflucan always makes me dizzy so I took it before bed...woke up feeling a little dizzy still and so nauseous ! I don't usually wake up feeling sick because I take benadryl before bed and it helps tremendously...was not expecting to feel so blah this morning, but I was able to lay back down after handing my toddler over to my older dd...feeling worlds better .
The good news is that the Diflucan is already working...phew
Only two more days until my phone appt with the nurse, woot...cannot wait to get started with my new OBs. I'm looking forward to a regular prenatal schedule and getting my first tri screenings set up ! I always feel like the first few weeks drag by, but once my prenatals start it seems like the pg flies by .
Yes, I have 8 biological kiddos and 1 adopted for a total of 9 .
Nope, this wasn't a natural cycle...we did 5mg femara and 75iu gonal-f to stim and ovidrel to trigger . I've been on low-dose aspirin and 400mg progesterone suppositories since 4dptrigger. We've been ttc since Jan 2013 and have had 2 chemical pgs and 2 losses around 8wks that were blighted ovum....baby never developed, but the gestational sac kept growing (had a d&c in Aug and an mva in Jan) since then. This was our 3rd medicated cycle.
I have a history of recurrent pg loss due to diminished ovarian reserve (11pg losses including twins last May, but they've mostly been chemical pgs or blighted ovum which ended anywhere from 4wks to 10wks). I've had 2 unexplained 2nd tri losses though (delivered at 15wks and 19wks, but babies measured 13wks and 16wks)...hoping to talk to my high-risk OB about doing a clotting panel during pg and starting lovenox (my twin brother has a hx of pulmonary emboli and has been on blood thinners since). I am mthfr compound hetero...my RE does not feel it affects pregnancy outcome, but I did switch to a methylfolate supplement just to be safe.
Anyway, that's it in a nutshell...been a long road with a lot of heartache growing our family, but totally worth it
Thinking of you and praying you get a sticky bean very very soon !!!
Kelly, what a relief to hear the heartbeat! I'm glad the diflucan is already working for you. I miss your post in the ttc net but I'm glad your here and hope I can join you but think I'm going to be out because I'm cramping and my lower back hurts I'll continue stalking tho.
Kelly are you taking a baby aspirin? I have mthfr too and have to take that the first trimester.
The YI is much better today, but I'm going to take that 2nd dose of diflucan because I still have some irritation and discharge ( tmi)...just want to make sure we get rid of it completely since I'll be on the progesterone for awhile longer.
Baby's hr this morning was 148...found it right away ! So super happy and excited to have grown a baby this time ...usually by now we're waiting for a confirmation u/s so we can schedule a procedure to end the nonviable pg so I'm feeling over the moon...so surreal still .
I realized time is about to fly...prenatal appts, 1st tri screening, Easter, dd's orthodontist appts, several May/June bdays, Mother's day, dd's graduation open house, and then the 4th of July when I'll be a little over halfway through my pg !
I'm so excited to get my 1st prenatal appt on the books tomorrow ! My intake phone appt with the MFM nurse is at 3:30.
And on an OT note...my dad's wife (absolutely love her...she is amazing) got a new laptop and is giving me her 1yr old Dell laptop with windows 7 ! I've been wanting a laptop for years...it would make so many aspects of my life so much simpler, but particularly home schooling . Our desktop is 10yrs old as of yesterday, lol, still works pretty well, but it is slooooow and obviously not mobile. Anyway, soooo excited...it will be here Friday !
I know Kelly this pregnancy will go quick I think too. By the time Summer is over well only have a month...ahhhh....
Yay on the laptop. It has helped me so much. In fact I use it for all my visuals. To save money I dont print visuals and laminate. I use the laptop or tablet. What curriculum do you use? Or is it a mix.
We've loved home educating our kiddos and are so thankful to have had the opportunity . We have many years behind us and many years ahead...excited to be in a good groove and looking forward to watching my kids grow and learn, just really feeling privileged to be able to be such a big part of it ♡.
Sorry to hijack the thread but I love homeschooling too. We are also involved in our coop for the same type of classes. I actually teach the home ec and cooking class for 6-8 graders. Its so much fun
My first prenatal is on the books, woot ! Apparently MFM only does Mon and Wed appts so they're booked for the next 2wks. My appt is the day after Easter on Monday the 21st at 10:40 .
The phone appt went well...I ended up calling them since my appt was at 3:30 and they still hadn't called by 4pm. They apologized and said they were having phone issues . Anyway, she just took down my obstetric and basic health hx and info.
We have a lot going in in the next 2wks so I'm sure it will go by quickly !
darn! I was hoping you would get to see your LO sooner..... I'm so happy you can pick your mocha baby up on Doppler though!
I know you are super used to your homeschool curriculum and probably have it down to strategic science but it seems like a lot! Overwhelming to read for me, considering Tristan will start transitional kinder through a hs charter this fall. He literally misses the kindergarten entrance (private, hs, public) in California by 20 days we toured a Christian private school which would allow us to appeal the entrance age limitation, but I'm just not sure (we can afford the tuition for maybe our first two kids but then it gets sooooo pricey as we add to our family and I like to be equal). I already do phonemics, phonics, decoding, blends, alphabet writing, sight words, value of numbers, writing numbers, manipulative math, time, starting money in May. Same for Brooke except instead of free hand she traces (penmanship is hard for her because of the polyneuropathy, her hands still shake).
I was under the impression all care-providers only do certain appts on certain days . My pedi only does well-child exams on Mon and Wed, our dentist only does check-ups on Tuesdays and Thursdays, etc...so I was just assuming they only do prenatal or maybe just new patient appts on Mon and Wed. They're in the office all week so my guess is they must reserve the other days for other types of appts...maybe genetic counseling, certain tests like amnios/cvs or high def u/s, and maybe even those are "surgery days". The hospital we're going to is huuuuge and people come from all over the state to see the specialists here...there are 8 MFM OBs, 23 regular OBs, and 11 cnms as well as a plethora of resident drs and interns (it's a university hospital). It does seem more efficient to do things that way when you're dealing with a very high volume of patients. Anyway, I'm not sure, but it didn't strike me as unusual since even my former nurse-midwives only did prenatals two days/wks .
Kelly I can't wait to see your little mocha baby....
I've never been restricted on dates for appointments other than the family doc me and the boys go to takes off on fridays. It's probably that your in a large office/metro area. I can see them doing that for efficiency with that many people.
Glad you got your appointment set up! I'm just so happy for you!!
