It took a couple of weeks this time to get those fasting numbers under control. These days I'm routinely in the 83-93 range and I can even have a treat or two during the day.

It was very frustrating at first, for sure. I know exactly how you feel. I have been doing an evening snack of mixed nuts and they really seem to help with the FBS levels.

Ugh. I hate GD. That is all. My blood sugars have been nutso all day, and I really haven't done anything differently. I'm wondering if it is my meter even though I've had it checked. I got some crazy high # after lunch (like over 200 which I've never had) and I said there is no way that is right. Took another reading immediately after using another finger, and it was like 100 points lower. That doesn't make sense to me...

Yeah...sounds like you need a new meter!
Talk to your OB as soon as possible on that!

Now that I think of it, there is something different. I read awhile ago that if you take inositol before pregnancy, you can reduce your chances of GD. I've been taking it well over a year but I ran out a couple night ago. Picked some up on Friday but just opened the jar for some reason. I don't think it did much to prevent my GD, but maybe it's been helping my glucose from swinging all over the place? Will take some tonight and hopefully things will be better tomorrow!

My FIL's meter does that and he refuses to buy a new one hence we never know how bad his diabetes is! Hope all is fine in fact and no real crazy numbers.

Curious to hear about your FBS this morning. I hope the inositol was the answer.

97 yesterday. 89 today. It appears cinnamon is the trick. If I have some cinnamon before bed, my fasting # is where it needs to be usually...

So far so good! Starting to have trouble sleeping which I never did with DS. That should make the pregnancy brain worse

I've been waking up around 5am. Feels like a nursing schedule emerging to me.

When I was initially super stressed about my parent's divorce I was waking up at 5am and staying up for about an hour because I couldn't get my mind to turn off. Lately I'll wake up, but I'm able to go back to sleep!

What form are your sleeping troubles taking?

I had horrible insomnia last week and yup, preggo brain was pretty bad !!

I added in an extra walk during the day and have been doing crossword puzzles before bed which seems to have helped. For me, I think it was starting school with the kids that kicked off the insomnia...my body wasn't used to the inactivity and my brain just needed to wind down before bed .

I hope you find something that helps !

Thanks y'all! I'm sick with a cold and it's making my glucose readings really wonky. Hoping I don't have to go on insulin because of a cold but other than that, things are going well!

Bummer about the numbers. I know how frustrating they can be and how easily you can go over them!

DH painted Bennett's room today. It's kind of a vanilla latte color. I was sick of blue since we used that in DS1's room. Plus this room stays pretty dark due to a giant oak outside the window. This is going to be more of a neutral colored room with accents in blue, orange and green. I can't believe I finally get to start putting it together. I've been procrastinating!

I hear you about color on the walls...I'm kind of over it and am looking to do neutral in my kids' bedrooms too w/ colorful accents .

This is the color scheme I have planned for my younger boys' room (gray walls w/ navy, aqua, and lime accents):

I love the idea of blue, orange, and green !!!

Ugh. We have to get our house tented for termites in 2 weeks. What a pain! Not what I want to deal with getting ready for baby. It's going to put a pause on nesting for sure. Probably a good thing since I need to focus to getting DS ready for his first day of preschool. I cannot believe he is old enough for that. Where did my baby go???

Such a bummer! I'm sorry about your termites. How long will it take for them to get it all done?

    Ugh, sorry about the termites.

DS1 is in Kindergarten now and it's just mind blowing sometimes. I can't imagine how we're going to feel when we're in Kelly's position saying "my oldest is going off to college." Gah!

Hey ladies...I apologize for being MiA the last couple of weeks. I hope everyone is well. Not much going on here- just ready for pregnancy to be over and have Bean here. We are having a heat wave here in NorCal so I'm miserable. Termites are gone so we finally started getting ready for baby. I've mostly been washing and sorting clothes. Yesterday my mom came over and we purchased some needed items off my registry so I feel better prepared now. I have one more week of work before leave. My new boss refused my request for unpaid personal leave so I'm expected back after 6 weeks. I refuse to go back to work that soon so I'll probably end up having to resign unless she changes her mind. Such a pain!
