I *hope* truly this isn't you! but so many FTM go 41+ weeks. My sis just had her 6th and has never delivered before 40w5d her average is 41+2. Each women's body and baby is different, but i hope today will be Kayla's day!!!

WOW! If that is true it explains why most woman are induced. I wish they would change that practice to induction for 43 weeks if everything is still normal and healthy. I know we are all really uncomfortable at this stage. But at 42 weeks does not change much unless you have a medical problem. Still birth only rises from 1% to 2%. They scare everyone by telling them it doubles which sounds WAY worse then it is. My old Doctor tried that poop on me. I cut her off And said I know it doubles... FROM 1-2%. And she looked and me and said "well you don't want to be that 2%" I said I don't want to be the 1% but pitocin risks are much higher then 2%. And to that it was all acog this a regulations that and protocol dictates. HELLO it is simple science, evidence and math Lady... that is what I felt like telling her. Wish I had now. lol They LOVE inducing any time after 40 weeks. And wanted me induced at 38! I am so glad I didn't stay. I know for sure I would have had a pit birth. Which I know is fine for some. But me and my baby are healthy and happy. And we don't need any added risks or drugs.

You got it girl! My sis tells them to just check the baby, nst and such and to leave her be. Lordy is she miserable though! I love that documentary The Business of Being Born (plus all the mini docs) makes you have an aha moment.

I love Pregnant in America too. The reason why I fired the clinc is because they said it was NOT up to me. They would induce by 41.5 weeks even if we were still healthy and that was final. They said something about laws suits and regulations... blah blah blah. They absolutely must have baby out on or by 42 weeks period. It makes me so freakin mad. If you refuse they just wont treat you. They did and said so many things that were just absurd and unbelievable. They are a teaching /learning clinic too! Which makes it worse! I told them they should be more up to date on the latest evidence based practices for birth then... because that is what is ultimately better/healthier for baby and mommy. They didn't give a rats tail end about that. It makes me super mad to this day.

GAH... nothing.. nothing ... it's still just this ongoing prodromal labor but no good contractions for a while. I finally gave in. I don't care anymore. I think my body might be misinterpreting my excitement to be in labor for stress. So I give up. She will come when she comes. I even accepted that if I go to 42 weeks it will be a pit induction. I am okay with that now. My midwife is awesome she will not overdoo it. I feel safe in their care.

That being said I had nightmares last night. And I am feeling super needy and vulnerable this morning. I just want to crawl in to a cubby hole and have DH stand watch. How is that for primal end of pg emotions. lol

Sorry you feel like nothing is happening. Interestingly enough, an instinct to be alone and hide is actually a good sign. We/other animals seek/want privacy for delivery!

We feel the exact same way Mariah..they don't want to give women time anymore. They gave me pitocin but it didn't take much and my water broke on its own. I had to be induced because the baby was measuring big.. so I only went 40wks 2 days.

Put on a nice dress and make up and take yourself out! !! I did that on the day they told me I should go for an induction. Instead I went out with whole family, ate my favorite food, bounced on yoga ball.and started labour on my own at midnight lol if only my body cooperated! !!

I've been "overdue" 3 out of my 4 pregnancies. I know all of the emotions all too well! You're doing a great job Mariah. Kayla is blessed to have a mom who will endure the bitter end for her benefit. again! Praying for you!

I'm thinking this girl doesn't want to be an April baby - we've been persuading her too much!

Still pregnant. Gah! I really think it may be stress that is holding me back from progressing... it is a long story, but to make it short my sister has not come up with her share of rent. We most likely cannot cover her because things are super tight on our end too, but we always come up with rent first. She was irresponsible and did other things not to mention pay her other bills like credit cards first. WTH.... And I am praying that things will be worked out by the 5th. Because Colorado starts eviction right away and you are out within 3 days to a week for non payment. I told her again today. But I really don't think she "gets it". Seriously... If I thought we would be paying all of rent I would have saved more money. I hate feeling like this.

CTX were not that bad yesterday. most were mild. I had them all night long tho and those were stronger. I feel tired, warn out, and emotionally drained. But things have calmed down to just mild cramps again. Oh and I lost more bits of plug last night too. lol most pieces have been pretty small I guess. So it makes sense to still have it coming out.

I'm so sorry Mariah ...that's an awful lot to be dealing with !!

    When is your next appt?

Eta...I don't know if this will help or not, but I think what you're going through with the long prodromal labor is not uncommon, especially for a ftm. I don't want you to think your body is broken and not working right, I think it's a variation of normal . That doesn't make it less frustrating or exhausting for sure , but I really believe you are doing better and things are progressing more than what you feel right now. I know for me, it helps sometimes to hear those things...I mean, it's annoying at first, lol , but once I think about it, I do feel better.

I was given a book at my appt yesterday and it said *most* women deliver between 39 and 41wks...I know you know that, but just wanted to tell you that you are doing awesome!
