    Default LP

What is considered a normal LP? I'm really crampy, like af is fixing to show, but I'm only on CD21. I got a pos opk on CD 15. I've never had issues with my cycles being short until now and I'm lost as can be. I'd appreciate any help ya'll have.

I usually spotted and cramped for several days before AF would arrive. I usually got my period every 24ish days so cramping and spotting on CD 21 would not be abnormal for me.

My understanding is that any thing under 10 days is considered a luteal phase defect and 10-12 may cause/indicate a problem.

Praying AF holds off a few more days!!

I thought that was right, Kelly. I hope af holds off for a few more days too.

I found this just now, doing some research:
--In average woman’s luteal phase is approximately 14 days long, and fertility specialists say that luteal phase that is between 10 and 16 days long is still considered normal for healthy for pregnancy. Length of luteal phase varies significantly form woman to woman, however, for the same woman the length of luteal phase may be quite stable in every menstrual cycle.

Despite the facts that luteal phase with 10 days is still considered a healthy one, women with luteal phase that is shorter than 12 days may find it harder to get pregnant, while women who have luteal phase shorter than 10 days, are considered to have luteal phase defect and definitely considerable problems with getting pregnant. Women with luteal phase defect hear the words no one ever want to hear: “you are infertile”. This is because luteal phase defect interferes with the implantation of embryos.

Ok, now I have another question.... Do you all start counting your LP the day after your pos opk or what?

I count it the day after my temperature rise. I never used OPKs so I can't help with that one. It is my understanding that a positive OPK does not mean that you ovulated, though.

I agree with Jessica, I would count it as occurring with the temp rise as that means a shift in hormonal regimes.

I cannot temp because of my job. I NEVER work the same schedule so I'd be having to set my alarm for 1am, just to get a temp the same time every day. I've never had a problem not ovulating, but then again, I've never had the short LP issues before. If I start af too early, I'm going to contact my RE again before taking all those meds to see if we need to work on lengthening my LP first. My question though was, do you count the day after a pos opk as 1 dpo? I too am aware that just because you get a pos opk, doesn't mean you actually O'd. I was just curious how many dpo I was, to figure up my LP.

I would count the day after the +opk as your ovulation day and the day after that would be 1dpo. Since you got a +opk on cd15 then cd16 would be ovulation and cd17 would be 1dpo.

I would think it would be accurate within a day either direction .

Ok. Another question for you wonderful ladies.... I am currently taking B-Complex vits. Do I continue taking them when af arrives or stop them? I begin taking Femera on cds 3-7. Hopefully, this is the only cycle I'll need to ttc. Yeah right. WWYD?

I would continue taking them every day no matter where you are in your cycle. THOUGH I will say last cycle I took B6, B100 and used prog cream from O to AF. THIS cycle I forgot about the prog cream....and the vitamins....and BFP! Our bodies are weird haha

Oh and if it is an consolation, here are how long my last 4 LPs were (since coming off BC):

10, 12, 10, 13 (first cycle off BC was perfect, then LP got shorter after)

Then BEFORE I got pregnant with DD my LPs were:

    12, 13, 13, 11, 12, 11, 12, 9

So on average my LP is fairly short.

I have always been told to stay away from one of the B vits when you get pg. I just can't remember which one. Someone on here a year or so ago posted about this too. Lucy, help. We just discussed it the other day. Lol.

    Thanks Kelly.

From what i've been reading it says B 12 is the one to stay away from as there is not enough info on how it effects pregnancy and unborn fetus, for instance it says pregnant woman should stay away from liver, raw eggs, shell fish and cheeses which all is high in B 12, so it makes sense. But i'm no expert the person who knew more about this is not on here anymore.

Doesn't Femera make AF show? Or am I confused?
