Congrats! My mom totally worried the whole pregnancy with our trio. I have Girl, Girl, Boy triplets that are now 9months old. All fraternal and a 3.5 yr old boy.
. If she's on facebook there is a great group of gals in an expecting with trips for 2013. Really nice to be in a group of gals who either are within a few months of where you are. If she's on there and wants the info let me know and I'll find out who the group admin is since I think it's secret.
I went to 36wks which is all my doctor would allow. I was on restricted activity from about 20 weeks and modified bedrest (I could make lunch and take care of my little guy and bathe but otherwise needed to be feet up) at around 30 weeks and hospital bedrest at 33wks.
Suggestions: Have everything ready by 20ish weeks as life gets very uncomfortable around then. Make sure she has a plan for Olivia in case of bedrest. EAT EVERYTHING! There's a great book on eating for a multiples pregnancy. I ended up with GD and had a hard time getting enough calories and my babies are a few ounces (when every little ounce counts!) smaller than the moms who had babies around the same gestational age but were able to follow the 3500+ calorie plan. Otherwise just rest and enjoy the little moments and being a family of 3.

She's gonna need lots of support with monoamniotic twins. She will be having lots and lots of doctors appointments and specialist appointments, and will be on bedrest at some point. She'll need help with her toddler. One of the hardest parts of being on bedrest is not being able to nest. Having someone to help plan and help with that is a huge help. And like PP said, she needs to eat a lot. Best to eat small, frequent meals high in protein and complex carbs. The most important thing is for her to take care of herself and everyone should try to accommodate that as much as possible. There are probably multiples groups in her area that can be a great resource for support and information. Parenting multiples is very different, and sometimes talking to other multiple moms can really help. It's nice knowing what others have gone through and they understand the worries and struggles that are unique to multiples pregnancy and parenting.

    Default Thank you so much

Thank you guys for the welcome and some info She has only had two doc appts. And Katie did say she has to see a specialist. And thank you for the info on the eating for three. I think she was under the understanding that she she did not have to do anything different than a singleton preg. I just pray everything is ok. I know this is a high risk preg. I am going to talk to her about coming on this forum or checking into the one on Facebook I think that would help her with any questions. I know they are both scared, They had almost stopped with one child (Olivia) but decided to have one more I have helped with my other 2 granddaughters and been very blessed to be able to do this So I will help with these grandbabies also. Any other suggestions.. help you can think of would be great. Thank you Shawn

    Thumbs up triplets

Hi, I am back... I will ask Katie today about the Facebook for trips in 2013 I think that would be wonderful for her. She is really overwhelmed right now thinking about everything. We do not know yet if there is a membrane between the babies in one sac. Just praying there is. They said she was not far enough yet to see it?? But she see's a specialist April 3rd.

Congrats! Like the other ladies have said, she will need lots of help, especially once she hits about 20 weeks, and after the babies are born! My biggest tip, would definatly be to make sure she has everything in order early on. I was having the "perfect" preganacy as my dr. put it when I saw him on the Tuesday before I had my twins (31 weeks) and by Friday afternoon my girls had decided to make their grand entrance. So you never know what will happen once her due date starts getting close.
