Ultrasound Yesterday
Yesterday I went for an u/s to verify the position of my little guy because my OB couldn't determine it for sure at my appt last week. Apparently he's going to be a little troublemaker already, because we did confirm that he is breech (frank breech, with his bottom down and his legs bent straight up)
On the positive side, he still looks completely healthy, and it was fun to get another sneak peak at him before he's bornHe is estimated to be about 7 lbs, 12 oz, and appears to have plenty of baby chub already!
After discussing the options with the doctor, DH and I decided that the best thing to do would be to go ahead with a scheduled c/s. Although I would have preferred not to need one, I would rather have one planned than to start into labor and then end up with an emergency one. Although not impossible, the chances of him flipping over on his own at this stage are slim. He has been in this same position for quite a while, and seems pretty cozy like he is.
I'm still waiting to hear from the scheduling person at the hospital about the date, but my OB wants to do it early next week, so I'm thinking it will be Tuesday or Wednesday. It's pretty exciting (and a little scary) to know that he will likely be here by this time next week! I will update once I find out exactly when it will be!
