    Default Let's Check In

I know this room is kind of small and we've had several losses already so it's understandably quiet. I thought it would be good for everyone to check in though.

So, how is everyone doing these days? Symptoms? Appointments? Life in general?

Hi! I am doing ok. I am having trouble finding "healthy" foods I want to eat. Still haven't thrown up which is completely opposite of DD. I saw our bean monday, measuring about 2 days ahead of my edd, heartbeat was 171! Since then DH and I are totally thinking GIRL! I finally met my new ob and I love her!
I am showing some, even though I have lost 2lbs. I started at 123lbs and some how I am down to 121lbs. I finally lost the last ten pounds from DD(5) in December!! I gained 71 pounds with her. which I don't plan on doing this time. I had to buy all new pants and got down to a 0!! Unfortunately I am lacking in the rear department so "going up a size" isn't working. Those stupid buttons on my jeans dig into my belly/uterus and it hurts especially at work when I'm sitting all day. Moving on to leggings and stretchy stuff. I bought some pants at the maternity store but they are HUGE, which is frustrating. I feel like I'm in clothing purgatory!

How is everyone else doing? I think we need a net so we can chat everyday!! What do ya'll think?

Doing pretty good here. The room is pretty quiet, which is kinda depressing, so I post a lot in the September room. But I'm happy to participate here.

I went to the Dr on Tuesday, 10weeks. She found the heart beat right away. Favorite sound in the world when I'm pg. Said my weight loss isn't an issue as long as i'm eating and baby is doing well. I'm down 16 lbs since mid December. Still 35 lbs over weight though. Maybe some day I'll be able to get back there without everything up pg again. Life is busy ad usual. This weekend will be silver dollar city, baby dedication, and first birthday party while my mom is here. There will also be shows and general tourist stuff all next week before being ready for Easter. No rest for the weary.

I know what you mean about showing even when you lose weight. I'm definitely showing now which I think is because I'm finally trimming down again. I'm getting way more flexible again already too. I do a mommy and me gymnastics class with Kimber once a week and her teacher commented on it Monday. I forget sometimes what relaxin can do to the body.

    Hi Ladies!

I'm with on feeling like you're in clothing purgatory. The rubberband trick is working on some of my pants, but so many of them have tabs instead of buttons and those are just really uncomfortable. I love the weekends when I can just lay around in yoga pants for a couple of days!

Still feeling good - my biggest complaint is constipation. Not finding much relief there. But I suppose if that's the worst of it (I've had NO nausea or headaches at all), I shouldn't complain.

I'm only 10 days away from reaching 12 weeks, and we have an appointment 3/25. We plan to tell more family and friends after that appointment. Exciting! DH has insisted on taking profile pics of me every night (it's getting old already), and I'm getting anxious to see a difference. Right now it just looks (and feels) like I haven't pooped in 5 days. Bleh.

Hope you're all hanging in there!!

    Hi Ladies!

I'm doing okay. Morning sickness hit me like a freight train dead on 7 weeks and since then I've been miserable. I can barely bring myself to cook because it makes me want to hurl so we've been eating a lot of take-out. I have no energy so I'm falling behind on non-essential housework (I really need to clean the bathroom). I think DH is getting resentful that I'm slacking on my cooking and cleaning so I really need to try and step it up a bit regardless of how miserable it makes me.

I've had my first appointment and had a u/s done. We saw a lovely strong heartbeat

I've just given up and gone to maternity pants. Screw it. XD

I totally rocked maternity clothes this weekend, but I haven't done so at work yet because I'm really trying to keep the info under wraps until 20 weeks. We'll see how far I get without having to spill the beans. ;)

Sorry to hear about the nausea. I have somehow managed to avoid it this time. My theory is that it's because I am eating several small meals a day. I basically put myself on my GD diet from my last pregnancy ... eating every 2 hours. I think keeping something in my stomach has prevented me from getting nauseated. Who knows.

Well today its cold (in FL REALLY!?!) so my huge new maternity capris/ stretchy leggings weren't going to work so I grabbed a pair of jeans two sizes too big and did the hair tie trick so the button didn't hurt my baby bump. Now I am sagging my pants at work and waddling when I walk to keep them up I am a mess! Also I am so hungry today, I had lunch and I told DH (we work together) he should've double my order because it wasn't enough. I AM STARVING!!!!! He looked at me like I was losing it! I told him its all the baby's fault, baby wants food.

Colee - for a strong heartbeat! I feel you on the busy busy busy! All I want is sleep and there is too much going on to sleep!

sd2010 - I am so with you on the weekend yoga pants, I want to wear them everywhere! Your DH is so sweet with his every night photo session!

Dreya - I am slacking on the housework too, Dh keeps saying we will deal with it on the weekend but then when am I going to sleep! for strong heartbeat!

Paytonsmom: OMG, they seriously called you out, didn't they? Sounds like you work with a bunch of women, or maybe a bunch of daddies. I'm not showing to those who don't know my body well ... and no one really sees me eat. Over the last year I've committed to drinking a lot of water, so the bathroom trips are easily explained away ... if anyone were to ask.

Yea all women except DH, and One of them knows about our ttc journey so she was all over me. I am in medicare world we are non-stop so we all eat and work. And we have a "snack closet" and I have been avoiding it for a while and suddenly I was all over the snacks. She is a chip lover so she kept catching me in the snacks. And the tinkle room door is soooooo loud everyone looks when someone goes in and out. I had no chance!! Plus DH and I were all smiles!

It would be weird to have that many people watching me all the time! My 5 year old son called me out last week but otherwise I just get the typical " your youngest is almost a year old, are you pg again yet?" People ask ALL THE TIME as soon as I deliver so its easy to laugh it off.

There is only 7 of us in my office so its not too many, but I have to work closey with them all. They need me to approve medical records and all that jazz before they can do their job. I love it that your 5yr old is all over it! Kids are so smart. DD asked me today if the baby has an umbilical cord yet, I was impressed!!

I've never really sheltered the kids from anything. At 13 mos old Gabe would bring me a towel and rub my back when I was throwing up with Keira. When i delivered her he was practically laying in the bed with me. I put her up on my chest and he said " that's my baby" and kissed her slimy little head like it was the most natural thing in the world for a 20 month old to do. All the kids are very involved in all my pregnancies. I think it's important because its their lives changing too.

That is so sweet!!!! I totally admire that you had him so involved!
We are trying to have DD very involved and it is awesome! She gives me a sticker every morning for the baby and I wear it on the lower part of my shirt all day! She is so excited to see the sticker there when we pick her from Grandmas. I hope to have her in the room when I deliver or very close by.

Awww! The sticker thing is adorable!

If you want her there make sure you start getting her ready now. Look at pictures and read books about labor and deliver. Work your way up to real birthing videos that show the baby being slimy and floppy and maybe a little blue or grey with a pointed head - the way most newborns tend to look. Tell her about how it hurts and your birth plan - meditation or walking or epidural etc. She's old enough to understand all that and it will give her time to process it all and ask questions before the heat of the moment when her emotions might get the best of her. The last thing is the most important, in my experience. If she decides to be there have a plan on who will take her out if she gets overwhelmed or, God forbid, something goes wrong. Make it someone willing to answer questions without making her upset. I don't want to be left alone so my mom and DH attend the delivery with the kids. My mom knows it is her job to take the kids out if it becomes necessary. We've never had a problem but better safe than sorry. I love having my kids there for the deliveries. It's a great family moment.
