    Default Cooper's Birth Story!

Monday I had an appt and went to work. Shortly after I got there, I started having contractions. I assumed it was from the appointment (since I had a false alarm on Thursday!) so I just watched to see how close they got for a while. They were 10-13 mins apart most of the day. By 7:30 they were about 8-10 so I left work 1/2 hr early. We got things together at home and by 11 I called the Dr. Contractions were 6-8 mins apart so she told me to head in to the hospital. We got there at mid night and I was the same as I was at the appt- 3.5 dilated and 75% effaced. They told us to walk for an hour. We did and the contractions were 4 mins apart at that point. I was still the same. They decided to admit me and let me keep walking. I was so tired and so was DH lol. Around 4 am they broke my water and omg did it get intense. DH was more amazing than I could have imagined - talking me through every contraction and telling me how proud he was of me. He knew I didn't want any meds and helped get me through. We had great nurses- all very supportive. By 10 am I was feeling like I had to push but I was only 8cm. Worst pain ever having to try and not push! By 10:35 the Dr came back in and said I could push now. I started pushing
around 10:40- and he was born at 10:59am. I had a minor episiotomy- like 3 stitches. He was 8lb 1oz 20 inches long. Overall, a great experience!! I was so happy to go natural again.

Since being home, I have had a bad case of baby blues..as soon as nighttime comes I am crying/worrying. DH has been amazing as well as my mom. I went to Dr cause I was
short of breath and still pretty weak. She thoroughly checked me and said she believes it's anxiety..i agree to some extent. I am still pretty weak and I think it's that and sore muscles making me feel that way. My3sons' story had me panicking as well so I'm glad I got checked.

I'm looking forward to getting a routine down and feeling myself again. We couldn't be more in love with our little man. Dd is having a rough time not being center of attention but we are doing our best to make her feel special!!

So happy to hear Cooper is finally born and that all went well. Our babies were the exact same size! I'm glad you asked your doc about the short of breath feeling. My new motto is better safe than sorry.

I feel your pain on the baby blues. I often feel like my baby doesn't know/like me, I feel like I am useless. But I just keep chugging along and try not to let those feelings take me over. We'll be out of these hormonal blues stages soon enough, so hang tough momma.

Thank you! Taking it day by day with big Sister...she is regressing with the way she is acting/talking. Trying to be patient as this is so new for her! DH goes back to work Thursday- I'm dreading it!
