Feb 20 Hannah Pearl was born!
Hey ladies sorry for being MIA(not like you don't understand lol)
I started feeling contractions at around 7:30pm! They picked up in pain around 9:30pm and of course I couldn't sleep! So I got my bag together(is it bad that I never did that? haha) DH slept and that was a good thing because this labor lasted much longer then we thought it would. I started timing them around 10:15. They were from 10 to 12 mins apart. Called my mom with a heads up at 11pm. We needed my parents to watch the boys and they have an hour 1/2 drive to us. I was under the impression that this labor would fly by since it was # 3 and my second son's labor was 6 hours start to finish.
Well at around 4am I decided with my contractions now at 5 to 8 mins apart it was time to get my parents on the road and wake up DH. I was so excited but started to notice a slow in my contractions. They went back to 10 mins apart. Not all of them were painful either. When my mom and dad arrived I decided to lay down and rest since I hadn't slept all night. I ended up falling asleep for over an hour. When I got up my contractions were almost gone! I was so shocked then I was sad because I thought how the heck could this have been false labor?!?! Here I am 40 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I'm so worried that I just called my parents out for nothing and I'm not going to meet my little girl today! Well I started to walk around and when I would use my muscles the contractions started to come back. Baby wasn't moving at all so I grabbed DH and we went to L&D to find out what was going on. This was 7am I had also been experiencing bloody show so I guess my mucus plug wasn't done coming out after all lol.
We checked into L&d found out I was 4cm and 80%effaced. I left the hospital so I could finish laboring at home. Got home only to have my contraction kick into full gear about an hour and 45 mins later. We left when they were 2 mins apart lol. I got checked and was told I was 100% effaced baby is ready and I was 8cm.
I opted to have my bag broken at that point so we could pick things up. 15 mins later(about 10 of those mins pushing) Hannah was born! 11:46 am Feb 20th 7lbs 9oz 20 inches longIt was an amazing experience that I will forever cherish.
