    Default Insurance issues

I have been on a rant that I won't share here bc it got political but I'm so upset with my insurance company. I have private UPMC insurance through a regional hospital. My deductible is insane $2,500. The hospital pays the first $1500 of the deductible the first year of having this insurance (new insurance to our hospital). So after that $1500, I'm responsible for the rest which is $1000. My ultrasound and first round of blood work ate through $720 of the deductible already. Now next year, I won't get the gift of $1500 from the hospital so with all of our doctors visits we will be responsible for $2500. It irritates me bc we had such good insurance before and then this past year they switched. I could continue my rant about other types of insurance but I won't. I'm just ticked about how uneven insurance is across the board, especially for working individuals.

Ugh! How frustrating! Insurance is a PITA. We have a $5200 deductible & we pay $1000 in premiums every month. This baby is gonna cost us 20K this year. Next year we are dropping group coverage & getting an individual policy. It's sooooo much cheaper!

Ouch! I shouldn't complain! I was just so mad when I saw that I got $703 discount for having insurance, then $703 was paid from my employers reimbursement, while the insurance company only paid $16.50. How can they justify paying $16.50! Insane!

Gosh you make me so glad to live in New Zealand. Tax may be high, but no medical bills! Good luck with your payments.

My husband and I have private insurance (not through work, he's a consultant and I'm looking for work). Of course, anything pregnancy-related is excluded from my coverage. We make too much to qualify for aid programs so we are just eating the cost for now. Totally hear you on the insurance woes!

$2500!!!! I would not be happy about that either. Fortunately we only have a $500 deductible to pay and everything else is covered 100%.

I dropped the Insurance through my job last year because they went up from offering a $1000 deduct to a $2500 deductible. My husband's insurance isn't any better either. I had my insurance with DD and It paid everything but the deductible of course but once they went up there was no way I could afford that. Luckily I am Native American and can get Indian health benefits here in Oklahoma.
