Cody got bit at school!

He has gotten scratched one other time and this time he was bit. It broke the skin and it was by his chest! This makes so mad! The school system just added Pre-K this year and if some the child might be removed from the program. The doctor's office said that he doesn't need to see Cody unless there was an infection. It still makes me mad. I just don't remember this stuff going on when I was in school. I also get a lot of "well its normal at that age". Just doesn't seem normal but, I might be wrong.

it sucks when the happens! My dd got bit at daycare when she was just over a year old. Yeah, "it's normal" blah! It still sucks

I don't think it's normal at school age. (Not as in see a specialist, but as in not tolerated, etc).

Sucks...I am sorry, poor guy. As far as it being normal, all I can say is this is not the first (or even hundredth) time I have heard of a kid getting bit in daycare/pre-K. Hope they can keep him away from the cannibal

Agreed. By 4.5 or 5 a child should be able to control his or her body to avoid hurting others. Not that kids always will, and that's still young to expect them to always do it, but yeah, some consequences are in order and it sounds like they're doing something about it. I hope it doesn't happen again - poor Cody.

Very frustrating. I would think biting is no longer considered "your normal type of behavior" for 4.5 year olds. Now, 2 year old is different. They bite, they teeth but 4.5 is pre K and not tolerated in my kids' preschool. Sorry.

I'm sorry mama!! Poor little guy! Ari got bit by a 3 year old and it broke my heart. I hope the school doesn't tolerate that happening...and hope they dont brush it off as 'normal' I would never accept a 4.5/5 year old biting as normal behavior! Hope it doesn't' happen again!

The kid was 3 actually the school has it for 3-4- and 5 year old children another reason why I'll be glad in August he'll be in Kindergarten away from 3 yr olds and by then 4 yr olds. He'll be 5 by then.
