Default Anyone having first trimester screenings?

With my daughter I opted out of all genetic screenings but this time around we decided to get them. I'm a little nervous. The rate of false positives is very high. Last week, I went for all of my blood work and then had my finger pricked. On the 20th, I'm having a big ultrasound that will look for any abnormalities. I'm excited about it and yet scared all at the same time. I keep feeling that because I'm older (34) somethings going to go wrong. I should probably stop reading everything!

Nope. Not doing any of it. I was 37 when Wyatt was born. I will turn 40 before this one is born. They try to invoke so much fear into you; it's horrible. At my 20 week U/S last time I was appalled at the fear tactics they used. I wanted to tell that doc to shove it. Lol

We are also opting out. I'm 30, we probably woud have done it if I was older, but I'm scared of false positives. Hope its nice an reassuring for you! Great to get another look at the baby . KUP.

We didn't with DS and we won't this time around either. I would rather not worry about it throughout the pregnancy. I figure that if there is anything wrong then it is meant to be since we will not abort and God won't give me anything that apparently I can't handle
