    Default October Mama's NET

I figured with such a small DD room that we could use somewhere to catch up

Anybody have any appointments coming up soon?

My first is on Thursday! Excited to get to hear the little ones heartbeat

We really do need a net! Thank you! Yay for your appointment Thursday!! KUP!
I am 12 weeks tomorrow!! My NT scan is Monday. I can't wait to see the little bean again! I am also having the blood work that tells us the sex. Results take about 3 weeks, I am so excited! I am feeling huge today and finally gained a few pounds in the last week and a half. I think I felt a few movements, I have read how number 2 is easier to feel and its an unmistakable feeling. Just a few times, but I am fairly positive it was the baby I am still so sleepy and very emotional.

How are you all feeling? Any improvements?

That's so exciting!! I am a sucker for U/S I am hoping we can schedule the NT soon, but my work schedule is insane, so we will see.

Sometimes I think I feel the baby, but I brush it off as gas (and that I have loads of )

My nausea is backing off a little tiny bit. I've dropped about 5 pounds, but am staying steady - no more gain/loss in a few weeks. Although I haven't gotten on the scale this week either

I am still so, so tired as well. I'm out by 9, just barely making it to get Nolan in bed by 8-8:30 and try to do dishes or something and than I am OUT like a light.

and for 12 weeks!! I can't believe the first trimester is already almost over

    CHICKEN POX!

Sounds like we have them going around in our church (will probably spread to our homeschool co-op because things usually do) so I get to go have blood work done to see if I'm still immune. I had them when I was 4 - SUPER BAD - so I'm probably ok but my dr wants to be sure because my kids will probably end up with them. Pray it's gentle on us. We're just coming out of a week of a diarrhea virus that's been super hard on them. They need some recovery time. My poor babies.

Oh no! I hope you are still immune!! Poor babies, gettin over one thing, hopefully the chicken pox skips ya'll alltogether by some chance

My co-worker had shingles shortly after we found out I was pregnant. Poor thing freaked out worried she was going to harm the baby, but her breakout was on her side/wrapped around her breast so I hadn't come into contact with it.

    Hi Ladies!!

I had my NT scan yesterday and am SO GLAD we went ahead and did it. I hadn't had an ultrasound since 8 weeks (I'm 13w2d today) and the baby is so different now! Everything looked great and the doctor was happy with all the measurements. Baby was doing flips and waving and kicking the entire time - I was in awe. AND both the tech and the nurse agreed that they're 99% sure on gender. We had them write it down and it's in a sealed envelope that we're opening tonight at dinner (today's my birthday!). The suspense is killing me!! We didn't expect to find out yesterday, but now that it's written down and I can't see it, getting through this work day has been absolute torture.

It's starting to feel a little more real now.

Nicole, I hope your kiddos have a speedy recovery if they get hit with the chicken pox!

Yes! We got a CD of about 30 pictures. I'll try and post some in the next couple of days if I can figure it out.

I've been warned that the gender will need to be confirmed at our 20-week anatomy scan, but both the tech and the nurse said they weren't concerned and they were very confident (which makes me think it's a boy).

I can't believe I agreed to wait until dinner tonight to open the envelope ...

Sara, that is wonderful news!!! I am tearing up a work like a crazy woman! Yay!!!!!!! I understand its early but how exciting!
My DH and I work together and he won't be able to go to my NT scan Monday and he is upset about it. I was telling him what happened to you and he was all excited we could do the same if they happen to see anything. He was like "please tell them to do that if they think they can tell and we can see it together!"

    I am 12 weeks today!!!

I have a terrible headache though How are you ladies feeling?

    Woohoo for 12 weeks Danielle!!

OMG please tell me someone else is having shooting pains in their crotch?!??! I've been having them since like 6 weeks, but they seem to be getting worse (round ligament pain I'm guessing?!?!) I don't know, I did't have this with Nolan, but man it hurts like hell and is making me waddle

Yay for a girl! I didn't think they could tell this soon. That's so cool.

Smplyme89, I get stabbing/shooting pains were the pelvic bones meet in the front every time I'm pg although not usually this early. Mine is from my pelvis being out of place. A trip to the chiropractor usually clears it right up. It you don't have one there are some stretches that can help.

That's a good thought. I went to the chiropractor right after I found out. I have a tilted uterus and it instantly causes me sciatic pain. It's been acting up again, but I've been working 10 hours days just to make up time between my midwife appointment tomorrow and than Nolan's appointment next week so no time to schedule an appointment

I'll have to pay attention when it starts again and see if it feels like the pelvis. What kind of stretches are good for that Colee?

    http://mutusystem.com/exercise-for-s...-can-help.html

This looks like some good generic information. The ones I use are modified from the yoga and belly dancing I do all the time and aren't recommended for those who don't already know how to do them. Honestly, most of them aren't recommended at all during pregnancy but my Dr and chiropractor keep an eye on things and keep me informed so I feel comfortable with my choices.

I need to catch up, but I wanted to post an update real quick!
I am 13W2D and I have an appointment Friday and I LOVE the doctor I am switching too, he is quite a ways (30-40 minutes) but so worth it. My old doctor was a nut job. This dr. does an U/S at every appointment and is just so personable, plus he knows my history and I am high risk for Pre-eclampsia. So, it's very important for me to be with someone I trust and am comfortable with!!!! I haven't seen him since I had my daughter 4 years ago so I am very excited!!!! I am HOPING he can "guess" if it's a boy or girl (hoping for boy) but I'm still so early...
I had really bad nausea and dizzy spells from 9-12 weeks but feel great now, just tired, but I do have some what energy and feel kinda like my old self. I just want these hormones to tame...my poor DF is such a trooper
On another note, we are getting married July 26th so happy it's finally happening!!!!!!
I can't wait to post more and read all your posts, since I feel better I am getting more done, but I will check in as often as I can...I think I am nesting early haha...I want to clean everything....maybe that means my house will be spotless when I really do nest ;)
Hope all you ladies are doing well and congrats to all of you!!!!!!

Malia, there you are!!! I have been worried since we hadn't heard from you in forever! Im so glad to see your doing well! Glad your not sick anymore either! for 13w2d!!! Congrats on getting married in July that is awesome!!! I am so happy your going back to your old Dr, especially since he is aware and prepared for your risk for Pre-eclampsia. I think being comfortable is with you dr is so important. I hope your appointment Friday goes fantastic and you get lots of pics!!! So glad to have you back and posting!!

    Thanks Colee for the link!

Malia glad your feeling better and a big congrats!!!

My appointment was quite disappointing. My BP was elevated a bit (130/90) and she was unable to find the babys heartbeat. She is sending a referral to a radiology place local to me and they'll be calling me to set up an ultrasound.

Sorry your appointment was kind of a bust. Sometimes it can be hard to find the HB early especially with a tilted uterus. How soon will your US be? I wouldn't think they'd make you wait very long. Hopefully you'll get so pics to share. I US pics.

I know, they always had a hard time finding it with Nolan too, but they never not found it. She even had me hang out fill my bladder and we tried again... nothing. I know it could mean nothing, but it doesn't make me any less worried and hubs didn't even know how to respond. Poor guy has no idea what to say in these situations.

I have to wait for them to call me. She is sending the referral directly to them so I wouldn't have to worry about running around. So its all a waiting game... as usual. Pics would be nice

Oh my! I just read about your appointment...I'm sorry. I am sure they will find your precious baby's HB and you'll get to see him or her. I am sending prayers up right now. I know how scary that can be, but at 10 weeks we could hear it but it was still faint, so sometimes it just happens. I am sure everything is just fine. Definitely keep us posted, Mama...HUGS

Also, did they check your BP BEFORE you left the doctor's office? When/if mine is high I always ask them too, it CAN be a little high since you were moving around etc. BEFORE your appointment and it's natural to be anxious at the beginning of your appointment. Just a though for next time. Your BP shouldn't be high this early. That is not that bad, but they will def. watch it. I am sure all will be fine...positive thoughts and vibes

Thanks Malia. DH and I are trying to stay positive - its just hard.

She took my BP at the beginning and than after she couldn't find the heartbeat, needless to say it was higher the second time. She didn't appear overly concerned told me that she's had success having her patients use CALM and Nettles Tea in the past, so I am going to my health food store on Saturday to see if they have it.
