    Thumbs up Breast Pump

So I know this might be a little early to mention, but I thought I would let you ladies know. With the new healthcare laws, most insurance companies will fully cover (100%) the cost of breast pumps. I just called my insurance company and they informed me that it is covered 100%. All I need is a prescription from my doctor. My OB informed if that she can write it for pretty much any reason. Might save a lot of us some money!!

Yes they are! I came across the information when I was pricing them on the internet. Two years ago, my insurance company would not cover them but as of January 1, 2013 cover them fully.

I am so getting a new one! I have one that I have used for 4 years, but I would love to not have to cart one to work and back every time I need it!

I asked for one at my hospital last time and they have it to me and charged my insurance.

    Popping in from July...

I am so excited about this! I had heard about it from a couple of friends who are due later this month. I believe you have to get the pump from a medical supply store, you can't go to Babies R Us or other retailer. Also some insurance companies have restrictions on when you can get the pump (one friend told me she has to wait til baby is born). So definitely check with your insurance!

I did call my insurance and they gave me a list of medical supply stores, none of which carry breast pumps. So I was informed that I would need to buy one from local store (babies r us) and submit a copy of the receipt and prescription and they will reimburse. And yes after the baby is born:-)
