    Default Names....... the dilemma.

So you know that moment where you have picked out the name you love and DH doesn't. Yep I'm there and then I was looking up names that mean blessing on one site and I was not thrilled and on the off chance mentioned the only name I would remotely like on there is Rain. BUT I would not be able to handle it because it would make me think of a book character who made me lust after a strong damaged lavender eyed tarien soul who stole my heart for an entire series. Then he pipes up I like the name Rayne........ now HE WONT BUDGE ON IT! He is in love with the name Rayne for a girl. It is so hard to find a good middle name to go with it that flows. Any ideas?

Oh and for some odd reason we are not even talking boy names though we have none we are nailed down on. Although we do have some time and room for change

    Anyone else having name dilemmas?

I think we have decided on a name, but there's a lot of time to change his mind. An idea might be to say to him, ok put it on the list, then put in your own and hope there is a name that you both like. It's tough. Sam chose Shay's name, so I am getting the final say on this one, but Sam likes the name I have picked out at the moment. It doesn't mean something better might not come up.

    Good luck!!!

Yes! I have been trying to come up with a boys name to no avail . I love the name William but I can't think of 2 middle names that sound good with it and go with the last name White. All 3 of my boys have an A and a J initial and i'd love for this one to follow suit if it's a boy, but i'm having one heck of a time. DH and I also like Adam and Andrew, but I definitely want the name William in there somewhere because I want to call him Will . Every night before I fall asleep I pray that God's will be done in my life. This is our last baby and if he's our 4th boy, I honestly feel it was God's will for me to have boy's. What a better way to honor God then to name my last son William .

Here's my boy's names if you have any suggestions:

    DS1: Anthony James Ronald
    DS2: Caleb Joseph Allen
    DS3: Jacob Dalton Alexander

ETA: I've had a girls name picked out since we were pregnant with DS2 and were told he was a girl.

Our Girls name is: Katelynn Rosetta Marie (Katie)

She would be named after both of her great grandma's on DH's side, DS's mom and me

I do like the name Aidan and I had previously thought of that. Hmm...Dh just said What about William Aidan Joshua? I kinda like the way that rolls off. I have also toyed with William Adam Jeffrey. Grr..why does this have to be so difficult? LOL

Are you using the pronunciation "Rain" or "Ray-nee"?

If "Rain" (I think multi syllable pairs better):
    Rayne Amelia
    Rayne Bridgette
    Rayne Camille
    Rayne Elizabeth
    Rayne Rebecca
    Rayne Samantha

If “Ray-nee” (Traditional names might pair well):
    Rayne Anne
    Rayne Marie
    Rayne Lynn
    Rayne Cate
    Rayne Tess

    Just ideas …

I can't help with names, but I'm dead in the water for names. I had found a pretty good girl's name, but then the doc found the Y chromosomes and we had to change tracks. And I just can't find a boy name I like. Thankfully, I still have plenty of time. All I know is I want something that isn't very common, since both hubby and I have extremely popular names and never were in a class where we didn't have to be referred to by our last names. :<

Thanks for the ideas I like Elizabeth for a middle name. We are going with it pronounced like Rain if he doesnt change his mind.

Christine: I would have troubles too. I hope you get a girl so you dont have that issue or one comes to mind and it is just perfect.

We generally don't even talk about names until we know if we are having a boy or girl. My DH doesn't want to talk about it until then so we wait.

We have a big name book and I also use the site nymbler to help us pick names. Both of our kids thus far have an M name (unintentionally) and I'm not sure if I want to continue that. If this will be our last child I'd like to go with an M name, maybe, but if we want to have an additional child I'd rather choose a non M name. I'm tired of people asking if we used two M names intentionally.

I have no idea what to suggest that goes with Rain, though. You guys do have a long time to figure it out and he might suddenly change his mind.

we used nymbler too! Still don't have a name, but we have a list we plan on narrowing down. We won't even have a name picked when we go to the hospital to deliver. We are deciding once she is born. You have plenty of time! I hope you come up with the perfect name. :]

We have just gotten out our old list from the last pregnancy and are in process of "refreshing" it. Definitely won't make any decisions til after we know the gender, and I don't expect anything to be decided anytime soon. DS was named about 2 weeks before his birth, just because DH and I have so much difficulty agreeing.... :/

Christine -- Katie is a great name!

Sammi -- I agree there are lots of cute middle names that go with Rayne, lots of good suggestions from pp!!! Names are so tough...
Katie (33) DH (31). DS Derek (2) + a bun in the oven!
