So, I had a growth u/s yesterday as ordered by my high risk dr. Everything looked good except the right kidney.......After about 30/45min the dr came back in and said our lil girl has pyelectasis, or a dilated renal pelvis. He said 1 in 100 fetuses get it and only 1 in 500 go on to need surgery or anything. A "normal" fetal kidney should be aobut 5/7ishmm big, and Millie's is 10mm. All the research Ive been doin today says that 10mm is big enough where they consider surgery. But my dr said that the kidney is functioning like normal and the amniotic fluid level is still in normal range so there is no need for alarm yet. I go back in 2wks to check it again and hopefully it gets better. Most cases the kidney normals out before birth or within a couple months after. Im praying hers will work its way out before birth so I can rest easy, even tho the dr said its nothing to worry about now a mother still does! Other than that, she was growing right on track shes about 4.3lbs and measuring about 31/32 weeks!!!
