Default Week of Jan 14 Updates!

I will be having another OB visit tomorrow. Hoping against hope that my BP is back down to normal but if not we will be in the one week wait for an induction! Of course they also told me that if I do get even a plus 1 on the protein I will be getting induced THIS week. Eek! I did make a last target run today for a few things I had forgotten (unscented baby soap, lanolin cream, and breast pads.) I can't believe it is almost Feb! Eek!

Good luck momma! I'm in denial myself. I had my 36 week check today. Refused my cervical check but got swabbed. If a 40+ mph accident into a tree isn't making this girl come I think she will come when she's darn good and ready. This week I'm very thankful to still be pregnant

I went to the OB and had an ultrasound yesterday. My cervix is soft and I am 1 cm dilated. My u/s showed that the fluid is staying out of baby girl's chest, so all good news!

I am still feeling like crap and have since right before Christmas. Since the Friday before Christmas, I've had a UTI, baby dropped causing me a lot of pain, and a cold for the past three weeks. I've been coughing for the past week and a half and we thought I cracked a rib on Thursday. I was sent for xrays for a rib detail and to check for pneumonia. Luckily, nothing appears to be broken and I don't have pneumonia. So, that leads my OB to believe that I must have torn a ligament. All that anyone keeps telling me is that the only remedy for this is delivery! Baby girl needs to come out ASAP!

Mommabird - I really hope your BP is down!

My next checkup is also tomorrow, and I'm hoping to see some progress. I don't necessarily want to go into labor this week, but I'd love to at least know my body is preparing!

The hospital where I'm delivering is opening its new birth suites on January 28, so I'd really like to be able to use them. My doula tells me the birthing rooms look a lot like birthing suites in Europe. They're huge, and each room has a bathroom with a whirlpool tub that stays at 99 degrees, along with a zero entry shower. There is a special entrance for labor & delivery with its own private elevator, so you don't even have to walk through the rest of the hospital. They have a lot of new equipment in the rooms, like peanut balls, moms can use during labor. The hospital is now also pushing for 90 minutes of skin to skin contact as soon as a baby is born and they have banned formula bags. I'm really looking forward to delivering this baby there! So if she DOES come early, I won't complain, but I'll be a little sad to miss out on all the remodels!

Well it's set! I am being induced January 22 at 6am unless the 2 sets of tests I have between now and then show it needs to be sooner. I am in Labor and Delivery now getting a NST and will have another on Friday. Did get a growth u/s today too and little Britton is measuring about 5 1/2 lbs. The doctor did say he expects that she will be over 6 at birth but probably not 7. eek!!

WOW, 1 week left? Eeeek!! How exciting!

I got a cervical check last week because I was having what I thought were contractions but nope, baby is still baking in there with no signs of coming out sooner than his due date, bummer on me because I can't.take.this.pain.anymore! But we had a preemie before and we do not want to experience that again.

Hopefully, my US will give us an answer as to whether he will join us soon (if he is transverse) or if he will be fashionably late.

@clarissemarie, that new birthing center sounds incredible...I hated having to walk through the hospital (with all the cooties) to get to labor and delivery...they should do that in all hospitals!

@everyone else, good luck to you all! I can't wait to hear about more February births. My little guy is 10 days old and has gained 6 ounces since birth and is doing great!

Wow - that hospital DOES sound awesome!!!

I don't have a appointment this week - my next one is on Jan 23rd. The baby is still breech despite my efforts so I believe a version is the next step. I'm not getting the answers I want from my midwife, so I'm feeling quite a bit frustrated.

Wow, I can't believe we are all so close. Good luck mommabird! I was reading my hypnobirthing stuff but find that I don't have time as sad as that is. We had another weather related day off today and I just want to cry. This year has been a catastrophe. I can't seem to get any work done. My on line classes I am teaching are only partially set up, my report for the state is due next Friday and I'm not even close, I am struggling to get everything done. I'm totally in denial that baby could be here any day

I just got back from my checkup - I'm 1 cm dilated. Everything else is still about the same. She didn't tell me station, but since she was at -2 last week, I'm assuming it's about the same. 1 cm isn't much, but it's something!

1 cm is TOTALLY something!! You are getting ready girl!

I took all my breast pump stuff out to clean and sanitize today and decided to just hook up and see if anything happened. I half expected to just produce right away since it hasn't even been that long since I nursed Megan but only got a couple drops out of each side. It was pretty cool I have to say, seeing it, knowing my body is getting right ready for this little one!
