    Default Babidol

I just got a text from her, she was in a car accident. Her car was totalled and she is at the ER. She is waiting to be seen and for the baby to be checked out. She says she thinks she is okay, she does have seatbelt rash. Keep her and Baby Harlow in your thoughts!

She doesn't want anything on FB. APA only!

Oh my gosh! So glad to hear that they're ok. I was in an accident where my car was totalled, with no major injuries, but I have chronic neck/back/shoulder pain that never goes away. The accident was 7 years ago! I hope she doesn't have to go through all that. She and little Harlow have my prayers!

Thanks ladies. It's been a rough day. The accident was my fault. I been replaying it all day and I just don't know what happened. Guess I was mentally unaware. But I was t-boned on my side which sent me careening into a tree head on. There was a 3rd car that wad damaged but I'm not sure how. I couldn't get out my door. And I'm 99% sure my new van is totaled. The other drivers looked terrified. I felt terrible for them. All I could do was apologize. Just thankful we are ok. Scared the crap out of my DH. He has pics. I have yet to be able to look at them. I have really bad burns from my seatbelt/airbags on my neck and chest and some bruising on my belly. I hurt my wrist and a knee. I'm just very, very sore. The saw me in the ER and then monitored me for 4 hours in L&D. I'm trying to focus on being thankful and not the guilt I feel for ruining my new car, and causing the accident.

Accidents unfortunately happen. I am so glad that you and baby girl are doing quite well for the damage that was done to your car. How very scary.

As the others have said, accidents happen sometimes. It's part of being a driver. Even the most vigilant drivers can find themselves in one. I'm so glad you and baby girl are ok - that is the most important thing.

Saw my OB this morning. There are 4 in the practice and they were all very nice. I think all 4 of them called the ER yesterday in an effort to get me seen. The ER had me sitting in the waiting room for almost 3 hours and then their exam was a joke. The NP said the whole office was livid over it yesterday. I finally was monitored in L&D for 4 hours. She said they do worry about placental abruption but I'm close to clear there. She said If I have ANY bleeding I go straight to L&D. Said it could also cause my fluids to rupture prematurely but baby is big enough it should be ok. They wanted to do a cervical check and I refused. With as much as I was jostled yesterday I don't want anyone digging in their with fingers. And I'm not contracting so they gave me some pain meds and said they'd see me Monday. What a fiasco. I'm just so glad the baby is ok.

I second what babybluesash said. Cars can be replaced but the life of you and your loved ones is what matters. Accidents happen to everyone. Driving is hard enough but being pregnant and tired, etc, makes an accident even more understandable.

Please try not to let the ordeal with the new van overwhelm you. What's important right now is to rest and stay calm for your baby. My grandma always said 'no matter how bad it seems right now, this too shall pass'. Good stuff is coming your way Babidol! You just hang in there and find a reason to smile today. ((big fat pregnant hugs))

Thank you! It's really hard not to ruminate on the what-ifs. Once I really looked at the pics....people have died in lesser accidents. There is a huge metal pole too just to the right of where I landed. Just all bad.
