I went into labor 12:30am on the 2nd, dropped off Sonja at the sitter, made it to the hospital at about 1:30am. They admitted me right away and got me hooked up to fluids. Doc came in and checked me, I was already 4-5cm, 50% effaced, station -1, and my amniotic sac was bulging out, ready to break! They had to do a CBC on me before I was cleared for my epi, so I endured back labor for an HOUR while waiting for the results. Then by the time they got the epi in and the drugs kicked in, they checked me again and said I was 6-7. I felt so much better after that, which was about 4:30am. Matt and I then both slept for 2 hours, Doc came back in at 6/6:30am because baby's HR was getting really high during contractions, so they debated whether to put a monitor internally. Doc checked me again and broke my sac.... I was at 8-9cm! Didn't get the monitor since they were preparing for the birth! Things were moving quickly despite the epi (which can slow things down in most women) so he was coming soon! Doc checked me again at 7am and I was fully dilated and baby's head was "right there" so he said, "okay, go ahead and push if you're ready!" 7 pushes later and he shot right out! I only actively pushed for about 30 minutes, and only tore a teeny bit despite Damien being a big boy. All in all, a wonderful experience!

We are so overjoyed to have this little guy! It's rough right now with 2 little ones but at least Damien is kind of a lump most of the time.
