    Default Preparing for labor

What are you guys doing? Right now I'm reading hypnobirthing and am getting my lamaze stuff back out for DH and I to read. I ordered some new pants and a top for the hospital. I also plan to get my massage stuff back out, get my bag packed, and then sit back and wait. I am hoping to make it to 38 weeks before I try any labor inducing anything. I'm terrified of going early and having BF problems again. We ended up making it 21 months but she got bottles at the hospital....lots of nipple confusion, lots of pain and struggle....I just want this to work!

I got 2 new pairs of nursing pajamas for the hospital and have started putting things in my bag. I've met with my doula to work on my birth plan. I am going to start washing clothes this week, but that freaks me out because I worry about what if I don't get to use them? But that's just part of expecting after loss I suppose. I'm starting acupuncture in 2 weeks to help prepare for labor and am drinking rrlt. That's about it!

I've only just started to think about it, but I am a couple weeks behind yall. I laid out my post birth nursing gown. It's old and well used but I don't intend to look good at that point, if you know what I mean. I was reading in a book about what to pack and they list a nice pillow from home, make up, snacks for family and friends.... Yeah freaking right, if anyone's getting snacks brought to them it's me. And no way am I dragging my nice pillow to a hospital. Make up? Make up?! Face lotion- yes. Chap stick- absolutely. But I am not putting on foundation and eye liner. Nobody will be looking at me anyways, she's the star of that show. My motto is it's ok to look like you just had a baby in all the photos, because hey you just had a baby. Then later when your tween forgets how much you love them, you bust out that pic and show sweet-peach the hell you went through to bring her/him into this world. Evidence of love ladies, evidence of love.

PS ClarisseMarie, have you started your raspberry tea? I ordered online like you recommended and am up to 2 glasses a day when I remember. How much are you drinking?

I re-read my hypnobirthing book and made sure my iphone has my hypo tapes on them. My husband bought me a speakerdock to use for labor. Then everyone can listen to my music. I need to re-read The Birth Partner too to get in the right mind-set. I thought about starting to pack my bag today, but a nap is sounding better. I may pack some things, also get out some baby stuff. We need to get a carseat sooner rather than later. My husband has opinions about that, so I'm letting him do the research on it. I will probably get a diaper bag soon also. Either that or while I'm recovering I'll send DH out to do some shopping.... Even though I'm so ready to be done being pregnant, I'm still a bit in denial that there will be a baby at the end of this....

I started packing my bag today and realized that I have no clue what the heck to put in it!! Lol. I packed my toiletries, nursing tanks and underwear. I packed the baby's coming home outfit and my labor massagers. DH is working on the playlist for the iPod. Oh and I packed two blankets for her. One for swaddling and one for the pics at the hospital. I know I'll need pants and socks and my slippers.....

Which also brought me to the realization that I have forgotten that I will need baby shampoo and lotion, and breast pads and milk storage bags, post partum pads.....lol. Not quite as ready as I thought. I've also heard to bring change for the vending machines. I did pack make-up just in case.....I don't know of what....but it sounded promising. LMAO.

Anyone have the recipe for making the soothing frozen pads good after a vaginal birth?

Popping in from March. I have an iphone app that has a check list. I can send you the list if you'd like, I'm not packing it all but it had things I didn't think of. It has a mom, dad and baby list. I started packing things a few weeks ago. I'm a crazy person.

It's iPregnant. It has WAY more on the list than I'm bringing... Playing cards? Forget that, I have an iPad! It did have a few things I wouldn't have thought of though, like hard candies, change and hair ties!

I literally went into the hospital with what I had on my body with Cameron. I'm like super duper preparing this time. I have pretty much everything packed as of now, minus last minute things.

Returning to March DD to listen to the crickets now!! ;)
