Default Explain Braxton hicks to me....

    What do they feel like?

I am almost positive that what I feel is NOT bh (only by what google tells me)but they are pretty annoying. Every now and then I feel a sharp tightening feeling really low on the right side. It only lasts a second and goes away. When I lay on my belly .. Which I really can't do anymore.. I feel a hard spot in that area so I'm not sure if that's where the baby is? She kicks all over so I'm not sure. Anyone else get this or know what I'm talking about?

It's a tightening of the whole uterine muscle, not really one spot. I'm guessing the one spot you are feeling is the baby, and the sharp pain you feel really low on the left side is RLP. With a contraction my entire belly tightens....It kind of feels like an intense hug around the middle. They are annoying but not painful in any way. Sometimes they take my breath away but more because I'm not prepared for it and I have to stop and wait for the muscles to release. My belly gets super hard from top to bottom.

I agree... Babidol couldn't have explained BH any better!! Perfect!

I've actually been having them since Saturday. One week later than with with ds3, but occasionally I have been getting them more frequent than I'd like. Last night, I had 3 within 5 min.

Excellent explanation, so now after being a veteran mom, I know the tightening is BH.

Well I am getting them too! Had suspected they are contractions, since the stomach just tightens up!

And I experience some intense pain too on the side while getting up, I have to be real slow, else I kind of kind of die with the intensity of the pain or cramp whatever it is, lasts a few mins.

That was probably the hardest explanation I have ever given...LOL! Looking back on my pregnancy with DD 1 I was having contractions the day my water broke but I totally didn't know it at the time since they weren't painful. After going through labor....you never forget that feeling.

Lol they sound pretty easily identified. I don't think I've had any yet. But as a side note .... She has been kicking my crotch all day it's so uncomfortable . Hahah

What do you mean her head wasn't positioned right? I had a vaginal delivery but ended up with an epidural because of the pitot in and magnesium they had me on. Piper was facing up and it took a lot to get her out. Her face was bruised from being positioned that way but she still came out.

She was looking to her left or right! Or something like that, I was dilated, fully and the water had leaked completely, plus she had swallowed some meco too! The doc did not want to take risk till the last moment! And I still did not know what it means to have an urge to push! So csec it was!

I have had 2 vaginal deliveries....both without the epidural. The first one, I didn't have a choice. By the time they checked me and the anesthesiologist (sp?) was up there, I was already 8cm, and 25 minutes later, he was born. With my second, I was induced, so I had the pitocin, but chose not to get the epi. Still only had a 3 hr 22 min. labor from start to finish. (first was 3 hours). It was very painful, I won't lie, but in the end, I was happy not to get the epi. I hope your VBAC is a sucess this time!!
