Unexpected Ultrasound Appointment =)
Today I called to schedule our 20 week ultrasound appointment thinking it would take a few weeks to get in. To my surprise, they had an appointment open this afternoon that worked with DH's schedule. I picked DD up on my way home to get DH and off we went. Everything looks great! Baby measured right on track and all parts look wonderful. When the ultrasound tech asked if we wanted to know what the gender was, we said yes as DH wanted to know with #2 since we didn't know with DD. Right away looking at the screen we could tell it was a BOY!! DH is very excited, I'm super thankful that everything looks great and DD wants to hold her baby brother!
On another note, everything has been great. I started to get sciatic nerve pain at 12 weeks. With DD I had back pain. But, that's all that happens. I'm thankful I don't get sick. I found out today that our home birth won't be covered at all by insurance, not even out of network. We will be paying for it with HSA funds. It's a bummer, but a small sacrifice for the birth we want. We just got back from spending the Christmas holiday in Alaska. DD did extremely well on the 12 hour trip and it was wonderful to relax without the worries of work, house stuff, etc. I hope all is well with everyone else!
