Doppler
Alright ladies! I got my Doppler tonight. DH and I tried for about a half hour but we don't think we found it. We're pretty sure we could only hear my maternal artery but at times the Doppler was reading 130..and I read online it should read no more than 115 for my own heart rate. Do you think we were hearing it but we didn't realize or do you think what I read about the 115 was wrong or was the Doppler not getting a correct reading?

Honestly I had trouble for a while but eventually I found it just off center. I also have a uterus that is foreword tilting so its easier for me to get an angle in. You may not find it for a few more weeks. It could of been the baby but then again it could of been you with the anxiety of looking for the heart beat. I would try again tomorrow.
What has the baby's heart beat been at the doctor's? My son was always in the 130's so it could have been your baby's. You could always take your pulse at the same time to see if you are getting the baby's or yours.
I wish that I had a doppler this time around!
Jessica (32) and Ryan (31). Madelyn born August 5, 2009 and Malachi born December 23, 2010. Lost a loved baby 02/29/12, 05/14/12 and 07/05/12 all due a serious allergic reaction to fabric softener.
We weren't able to hear it at my appt either but I was only just shy of 9 weeks then. The midwife did day at that appt that the baby was way in the back of the uterus and the uterus was not tilting forwards. I'll try again tomorrow I guess. I'm 99% sure it was my pulse we were hearing.

i tried just now to pick up my hb with my doppler and wasnt able to get anything but i hear you cant get a hb for the baby until after 12 weeks but doctors are wrong all the time... try again i had to push REALLY hard
I'm actually a psycho...and I asked my friend if she could as her brothers girlfriend who is about to graduate from ultrasound tech school if she could come over one day and help me lol but I plan on trying again tonight and I'll have DH press harder cause he was being kinda gentle lol

It sounds like a galloping horse. It's the only way I can explain it. Sometimes it picks up our HB. Record it on your phone and listen back with your eyes closed and your finger on your pulse. And my cousin, an OB nurse, told me to try finding the HB this way.....Doppler near one of your hip bones but point the device toward your belly button. You'll catch your HB if you point toward your hips.
WE FOUND IT!! It sounds exactly like a galloping horse! OMG so cool! Best sound ever!!!
