    Default Dehydrated?

Have any of you experienced dehydration during pregnancy? I've been on the zofran for a week now but I'm still not eating or drinking a lot. I try to force the fluids but everything makes me gag. I keep it down but if I sip too much I get sick. I have all the symptoms of dehydration, but I'm afraid if I call my dr they'll admit me for IVs. Anyone else ever have to do that? Did it help? I'm considering it because not only health of baby, but because becoming hydrated might make me feel human again.

sorry you are feeling so sick no experience, sorry. But I think calling your dr is the best idea. And if you have to go in for it fluids, so be it. You have to do what's best for you and baby. When I was a little queasy with DS2 I always felt a little better after drinking something. I think staying hydrated is very important. Good luck, hope you feel better, kup!

I'm in the "better safe than sorry" mind frame, so I'd call the doc.

I would not say I am dehydrated but I know I could stand to drink more water but honestly I don't have much of an appetite for anything (food or drink). If your showing enough symptoms for you to worry then I would call the doctor. Good Luck!

Thanks ladies. I talked to my nurse yesterday afternoon. She said when I got home to weigh myself. If I'm still losing weight then to head to the hospital. I've gained 2lbs back that I had lost, and I choked down 32oz of water plus about 8oz of Gatorade. I've been feeling much better! I had no idea dehydration could cause so many problems! Yes, no appetite for food or water, but after rehydrating I'm surprised at how much my appetite returned!

I know I missed this If you have a better ER than the one near your parents they will almost always push fluids. Even an urgent care. Us preggos are almost always dehydrated! I drink a TON of water daily so I am pretty good about it but you are having trouble keeping it down Try popcicles randomly through the day too. Keeps your electrolytes up.

Thanks Melissa! Popsicles are a great idea! Since going to the ER I've been feeling 80% better and actually eating quite a bit which has helped my energy return. Maybe Popsicles will help me not eat quite so much too!!
