So excited to find out we are having a GIRL!!! Now we really need help with a name. We like Jade for a middle name, but are stumped on finding a first name. We don't want names you hear everyday. Any ideas...?

I really like Jade! That's pretty. We're considering Luci if our baby is a girl.
We have Amelia on our list, since it is a family name, but much to my chagrin, I recently saw it on an "up and coming" list. I don't want it to turn into a "Maddy" or "Bella." Not that those names aren't beautiful names. I like them a lot. But we all have unique names in my family, and I'd like to stay with a less popular name too...
Do you have any names on your short list you might like? Everyone is so different with names they choose, sometimes a couple suggestions will get us started helping you with other names....good luck!
If our son was a girl we would've named her Audrey. Elegant, classy.
My nieces name is Ainsley, which I really like.
Jade is cute!

This is from Disney Baby...
Girl names sure to sky-rocket:
Amelia
Charlotte/Charley (sure to be a Top 10 soon)
Scarlett
Harper (the fastest-rising girl name in the Top 100)
Penelope (especially now that a certain Kardashian, possibly responsible for the “Mason” boom, named her daughter Penelope. Sigh.)
Adele
Estelle/Stella
Briella/Brielle (the fastest-rising girl name of 2011)
Mila (another name that skyrocketed last year — presumably because of a Ms. Kunis)
Aubrey/Aubree
Molly
Violet
Lucy
More girl names on the rise:
Isla and other short -ah ending names: Aria, Luna, Cora, Eva, Nora, and Clara (in the tradition of Emma, Olivia, and Ava).
Elsie, Elise, Eliza and Eloise (the new El- names?)
Ivy
June
Juniper
Olive
Names ending in -lyn or -lynn (Evelyn, Raelynn, Emmalynn, Addilynn, etc.). This is a huge trend.
Names ending in -anna (Audrianna, Lilliana, Aviana, etc.)
Alice
Bryn
Harlow
Kinsley/Kinley/Kensley
Vera
Ember and other “Em-” names like Emery and Emerson
Milania
Bristol
Kennedy
Sad to see Lucy on that list!! Oh well! My DH loves the name Madison but I x-ed that idea due to its crazy popularity right now.
I'm surprised to see Alice on the list. That was my grandmothers name, and I didn't want to use it if we had a girl because it seemed too old fashioned, so we are using Alise instead.

My girls are Abigail Grace and Lily Marie.
Congrats! Girls are the best!
Every time I name a baby her name becomes popular shortly after. My last baby girl I named Eva Jane. Eva was barely on the lists then. I have only run into one person naming her baby eva in the last year and don't know any other kids with the name.
We wanted names no where on the 'list'. Our next two are Fionna Anne and Callista Jane :-)
I love this site http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames.cgi you can also do popularity by state as sometimes that makes a difference.

Madeline
Rebecca
Penelope (DH's)
Mallory (again DH's)

Here's our Girl list
Gabriel
Isabel
Hannah
Amelia
Katherine
Valentine (I love Ender's game, character would be named after Val from the book)
Lucy
Caroline
Alice (another literary ref)
Stephanie
I think that DH and I have decided on Caroline Stephanie after our mothers. His mother's name was Carol so it would follow the same "form" we have with our oldest, Jonathan. He's named after my FIL, John.
As for popularity: Don't worry about it. If you like a name then use it regardless of it's popularity. I was one of two Megans in my class in gradeschool and it never really bothered me. The other Megan was cool and we used to hang out.

Megan (28) and Jayson (31) Happily married 8 years
DD is Phoebe Grace. I had chosen Phoebe Jean (PJ) but DH nixed the Jean. He fell in love with Phoebe Grace. We did not have any others on the list as Phoebe was my dream name... I lucked out.
However, I love older traditional names:
Elizabeth
Christine
Judith (Judy)
Kimberly
Olivia
Lila
Margaret
Julia
and if I picked a character to name after, Ariel.
Phoebe Grace 6-22-11; 8# 1oz, 21" long/19# 12oz and 30.5" long at 1 year; 23# and 33.5" at 18 months! And oh my! Grew 3" in 3 months! 36.5" at 21 months... long and lean like her mamma was growing up.
