Take it easy, try to manage your diet immi. Cut the carbs. Rice and potatoes, stick to meat an d veggies. No milk unless the label says unsweetened. Look at the positive you will be eating healthy now. (Not kidding). Check labels, anything with carbs over 5 gms is non no.

    Sorry you failed your test!!

I don't know if this has anything to do with you or not, but I've been seeing a lot of Drs offices telling their patients it's ok to have a "light" breakfast in the morning... Most are saying "carb free" but some are even saying its ok to have toast, etc. I always told my patients not to eat anything after midnight... And to be careful even brushing their teeth. Almost all my friends that failed the test was because their Drs offices said it was ok to eat something light.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread, but thought I'd put that out there for others.

And see, this is one I did not have to fast for, they actually called me around 11am and asked how soon I could come in to take it so I went after work at 3:30 and since a lot of items have been making me feel sick I did do carbs for breakfast, but a higher protein lunch.

I did not do a fasting, and I cannot find my monitor so may have to buy a new one soon

Yes, I do need to add in more walking, they moved my office down to the basement and we have an indoor walking trail down here so I will start using it.

I just know all those carbs break down to sugars... Maybe it didn't have time to break down before your test? Who knows!!!

Did they make you drink the glucose drink too? Or we're they just testing your glucose levels "as is"?

Just as an outsider reading these...there might be something to the fasting/not fasting beforehand....

Sharing my 2 cents from the Jan DD room...I passed both of my fasting GT tests earlier in my pregnancy, and then failed the 28 week fasting one. All were 2 hours or longer, by the way. My endocrinologist actually failed hers as well. I would guess that if anyone knew a trick to pass, she would have. She said 30% of women fail, and some people are just more sensitive to glucose than others.
