    Default I think we are almost done.. shopping that is!

    I made a list a few months ago and have just been checking things off as I get them. Trying to keep up with what is a need and what is a want.. Even though she is my fifth I still worry that I might be forgetting something! Could you guys check my list and add anything that you know I obviously need? The * means I got it already.

    My List:
    Needs:
    * Bassinet for Mommy and Daddy's room
    Car Seat and base
    * Swing
    * Preemie clothes (7 days worth)
    * Newborn clothes (7 days worth)
    * 10 receiving blankets
    * 5 more snuggly blankets
    * 5 hats (thick for outside)
    Preemie/newborn Diapers and sensitive wipes (disposable because my cloth diapers wont fit her at all for a month or two)
    Lanolin

    Wants:
    * New diaper bag
    * Changing table for downstairs
    Glider for Mommy and Daddy's room
    * Diaper champ/pail for downstairs
    * New Moses basket liner (bed for downstairs)

    Lol. It's all those weird stackers that don't post! Looks good to me. I saw you post about car seats the other day on FB. What did you end up getting. I'm looking at the radian.

    Oh and do you have tiny babies? I am getting preemie clothes too. Piper was only 5lb 9oz but dropped to 5lb. Nothing fit. Her newborn stuff lasted for like 3 months.

    Ooohh I am so proud of myself. We went with 2 boosters for my 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 year olds. I SO didn't want to get any more harnessed seats since we have now been through infant seats for all, Britax Roundabouts for all, and then Recaro Harness/boosters for all. They were so ready to be out of the harnesses.. Made me a little sad but they are being so good and responsible with the seat belts. And sandwiched between them is the 2yo's Roundabout. The RB sits so high up that it makes it pretty easy for the older two to buckle. Just have to make sure they have enough light. Yesterday I had them go out and get in the car while I was still getting things together inside and in the dark garage neither could find the buckle. I Just moved the 4 year old's Recaro up to the middle (captains chair) and now we have an extra captains chair for the bebe. Sounds easy but gosh, it was tricky!

    Oh and yeah!! My biggest was 7lbs! She was not in preemies very long but long enough to be prepared, at least a week. My others were 6lbs, 5lbs and 4 lbs!

    Lol. Now that I see all my others weights written down like that, watch and I will get an 8 pounder this time!

    It does sound tricky! Both the girls will be in the captains chairs. I'm torn between using the infant carrier or a baby wearing device. I'm actually thinking I may switch Piper to the new 5pt and put the baby in her seat. She needs a cup holder and I want something that will get her through the booster stage. Hence the radian. Goes to 80 pounds and 52 inches. Might be my last car seat or at least that mighty wishing. Lol.

    I am so behind...I haven't purchased one thing yet...too scared to buy anything yet! I really want to get a rock and play sleeper for my room this time. Has anyone used one before? I also want to buy a few more miracle blankets...my girls loved those things and the ones I have are in pretty rough shape. I am thinking about going to Carter's on Friday to buy a few sleepers and hats for our little guy.

    Can you believe all the stores that are opening on Thanksgiving this year with sales? I feel really bad for anyone that has to work retail over the holidays.

    Aww.. those are famous last words around here! Last before another baby anyway! lol. That's why we went with 3 Recaro's because Harnessed they go to 90lbs and when you convert them to boosters they go up to 120lbs! The max height is 59 inches! I am only 63 inches so I figured they would be able to use them forever! They were just too wide to get 3 across.

    I would TOTALLY baby wear and skip the infant seat but for having all the other little ones that I have to try to get in and out too. Besides it being Feb and pretty cold outside I want to make sure wee one stays all bundled up when we are transitioning in and out.

    Omg, I totally agree about the Thanksgiving day store openings! It is madness! I went to black friday stuff last year and ended up standing in line on Thanksgiving day at Best Buy from 5pm till Midnight when they opened. I was 2 people behind the cutoff to get the item I stood in line for! I did end up getting some great deals at Kohls and Target, but this year I am skipping it all together! We are not really doing little presents anyway, just getting the girls a big ole swing set and each an American Girl. Hubby and I are not doing gifts for each other at all!

    I was not familiar with the Rock N Play but I looked it up and it looks very cool! Very simple and sleek! I vote yes! I am pretty astute at swaddling just with a receiving blanket so I have never gotten any of the swaddle-only type ones. But if they work for you that would be an easy place to start!

    My friend with triplets swears by the rock and play! We are getting one too. No black Friday here either. I plan to order our gifts online. Lucky for us, we aren't shopping for family this year since we won't be home. Piper is getting a giant doll house and some little stuff. Baby will get her rock and play. DH's ring got stole this summer so I plan to get him a new one. Other than the an item for each of our parents we are done. My brother and his wife are both unemployed so this is a good year for us to opt out of a family gift exchange.

    I haven't bought anything except a few outfits here and there! I'm waiting until after my sprinkle on 12/1 and then we are going to get everything else we need and that does include a rock and play for us too! We didn't have one with Liam and I wished I had gotten one. I'm also getting the arm's reach cosleeper this time. Ad I love the swaddler blankets.

    I haven't bought anything for this baby at all. Not one thing. And now I'm thinking- is that weird?? Because it sure feels weird to see it written down. Poor second child getting shafted already. Maybe I'm still in denial I'm pregnant...hahah jk. I sort of figured that after the holidays I would get things lined up in the room. Oh yea thats right I did buy fabric for the baby's room for my mum to make curtains. But that's it. I'll do a shopping spree in January, I guess.
    I do need to figure out what car seat to get..

    As far as car seats go, we decided to get the Chicco KeyFit 30 starting out again, and then we'll upgrade to a Britax as we did with Liam. I like the additional safety features of the Britax, and almost got their infant seat too, but decided on the Chicco again. I also was torn between just starting out with the bigger car seat and skipping the infant carrier, since Liam was only in his for 6 months, and the Britax we have (Marathon 70) starts out at 4 pounds. However, the seat is so huge, I thought it would be overwhelming for a little baby, so that's why I decided on the removable seat. 9 times out of 10, I'll be babywearing rather than using the carrier, but I did find it to be convenient when Liam fell asleep in the car. He wasn't a baby that would just stay asleep if I tried to take him out, so transitioning him from the seat to a babywearing device would have disrupted his sleep. And once he was awake, it always was a fight to get him back to sleep, even as a little baby. So, with that in mind, I decided on the removable seat. I found a brand new, factory sealed in box Chicco on CL for a fraction of the price, so I was excited about that! The person had bought it, decided they wanted a different color, and just never got around to exchanging it until it was too late. It was only a year old, so there is plenty of time before it expires. It's red, and I probably would've preferred a different color for a girl, but for the price, I figured I can deal! Plus, Liam's is black & red, so they will match, which I like.

    After getting rid of everything baby, thinking we were done, I hit up garage sales, CL and consignment sales hard core. I have pretty much everything we could possibly need for baby now. Now the hard part is cleaning and rearranging and trying to decide where everything is going to go. We have a 3 bed, 1 bath house and I have to figure out how to fit a 5th person in our home! I know I need to get on the ball, but I'm seriously lacking motivation and energy at this point...I think because I'm overwhelmed at how much I have to do.

    We are in the same boat! We have a 4 bedroom home but will have 7 people here! The days of even half of us having our own rooms are o-v-e-r! S'ok, my older girls love sharing a room and my little Nutmeg is excited to have a roomy when the bebe is ready to move in with her. There is a slight possibility that we may move in the last half of next year, and if that is the case I think we will be looking primarily at 5 bedroom homes. Good luck getting it all together though! I may be done shopping but the organizing part has just barely started!

    Oh that's great! I've been watching CL like a hawk, but haven't had much luck other than the car seat. It could be because we live in IL, so a lot of places are inconvenient for me to meet. We can pretty much meet by our house, downtown, or Maryland Heights and that really limits us! I also am finding that some people are only charing like $5-10 less than what something would be brand new in the stores, so to me it's not worth it to try to meet someone for that. But I put out a few emails this morning regarding bouncy seats and such, so we'll see where that gets me! I also got a $10 off coupon for the Rock N Play at Target! It printed at the register last time I was there buying maternity clothes.

    We have the space issues too - we only have 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom for 4 people! The baby will be in our room for the first year, and Liam is still in there about half of each night. But it's still a pain. I have no idea where we're going to put her things. We have a dresser and a chest for Liam, and both are full of his stuff (clothes for now, clothes in bigger sizes, shoes, socks, blankets, towels/wash cloths, etc.). We're doing what we need to do so that we can get our house on the market hopefully late next year, and we'll be looking for a 3-4br and 2 ba house at that point. I think we can manage until then, but we're going to have to move in the next couple years. We wanted to move anyway, but this new baby increases the urgency and makes it more of a necessity than a want!

    Some of our closest friends come from a family of 7 siblings plus the parents, and all 9 of them managed to live in a 3 br 1 ba house for many years, and I have no idea how they did it!

    I so wish we could move into a bigger home...but I know we won't get more than what we owe at this point, which leaves nothing for a down payment.

    We just moved into a bigger home in May. We have 2400 sq ft. 3 bed 2 bath and a partially finished attic we plan to finish off as a guest suite in 2014. We keep a guest suite since our family comes really often and I want them to stay with us. That being said....we all sleep in the same room. Lol. DH was just saying tonight how he wasn't looking forward to sleeping in the spare room again. Except this time I think the baby and I will sleep in there and I'll let him and Pipes sleep in our room. Unless we can get Piper into her own bed before then. We aren't doing any baby furniture. I have a big walk in closet so I cleared out space for her clothes, I have a basket for her onesies and diapers by the time she's one we will be buying bunk beds with storage for the girls room so we aren't buying any dressers or anything for now. I'm feeling more pressed to get out all the baby stuff and see what I have/need. Which may not happen until after new years
