24-hr urine! Yuck!
So, after reporting the onset of headaches, I've been instructed to do a 24 hour urine collection today. Bleck!!
They just want a baseline for future comparison, but of course it's all reminding me so much of having pre-e with baby #1. They said they won't deliver me until I was 37 weeks if they do find signs of pre-e, but.... Dec 14th is still too early! I really want to avoid induction this time if at all possible. Not to mention our home addition is not scheduled to be complete until "before Christmas," so I could use all the time in the world to stay healthy...
Anyone else with a history of PIH (or not) having to do this already?

I have a history from my first but haven't had to do it yet. I really hope I can avoid it this time. The mag and pit were more than I could take last time
sorry momma.

I didn't have PIH with Sonja, and so far so good with this PG.... sorry you have to go through this! How high is your BP?

My BP is totally normal right now: 110s/70s, thank goodness. Last time it got really high really quick, but not until about 36 weeks. They induced at 38.5 after my second urinalysis showed proteins. I did have other symptoms set in earlyish last time: big vision changes at 33 weeks or so (couldn't see while driving to work after a really intense swim workout), massive headache/stiff neck around 34 weeks that led to being admitted to the hospital for monitoring, and of course my first big BP escalation at 36-37 weeks that led to a visit to L&D for monitoring and my first 24 hr urine collection (that came back negative for proteins).
Anyway, never had to be on Mag, but that pitocin made for the world's craziest induction. It was a literal miracle that I didn't have a c-sec. I wasn't dilated at all when I was admitted and it took almost 24 hours of full dosage pit for me to get to even 4cm, at which point I was non-stop vomiting bile and traded in my hopes of an epidural-free delivery for a few hours of relief.
I was (AM!!) really hoping to be one of the one-and-done PIH gals. SO frustrating to Live a healthy lifestyle/do all the right things, and be so out of control... Oh, but isn't that the real gem of a lesson in parenting? ;)
Here's to healthy, uneventful third trimesters all around, y'all! Now I'm off to collect my second three liter jug of pee (sooooo gross).
