Mastitis after weaning 8 months ago?!

WTH I think I have mastitis. How on earth can I have a breast infection? We weaned in Feb...and I am still leaking a little bit (few drops here and there). But my boob is hot and red and hurts like #$%^&*( I've had mastitis twice and this is almost def mastitis.

Is this even possible? I called the LC and they said it is rare but possible, but she sounded like she didn't believe me. I've been eating cloves of garlic because I read they can work to knock out out the infection. I can't get to the doctor until next week unless it is an emergency.

Can't your doc just call in some antibiotics for you? You've been through this before, so you know the symptoms. When I had it, all I had to do was call in to my doc and they phoned in a Rx to the pharmacy for me. Hope you get some relief soon! I know how miserable it can be.
