    Default Sugar test

Had my sugar test the other day and passed it, yeyy
I did notice a funny thing in the sugar drink instructions. It says "Instruct the patient to remain quiet" ???
Can someone explain that to this blond, why did I have to remain quiet while drinking it?
I know I had to drink it within 5 mins, which it does also say on the bottle but why quiet? I just find it hilarious.
I had a pic of the text too, bit for some reason uploading a pic keeps on failing

P.s. I did remain quiet just in case

Maybe it meant physically quiet, like don't run around the room? Glad you passed! Good news!

I just asked DH - he is a Lab Geek.

It does mean physically quiet. If you are moving about and physically active you are eating up the glucose they are trying to measure...LOL

I never noticed that on my bottle...they need to adjust that wording...LOL

I get mine in a glass, so I wouldn't know. I wonder if she'll let me look when I do my next test? (btw, this hospital needs to get a new flavor. I'm tired of the orange, lol)

They sure need to revise their wording. That's pretty funny though, they had me guessing for awhile

I got to take the bottle home at my last appointment and just had to fast 2 h before my appointment and drink it 1 h before going in for the blood test. I guess you have to drink it there and then wait?
I got the orange too, not my favorite, but not as bad as I was expecting.

I have to fast for 8 hours, and go in at 7:45am, have a blood draw, drink it, have a blood draw at an hour, then another draw at 2 hours, then another at 3 hours...

The one hour is sooo much easier than the 3. And yeah...when we were overseas I had the Sprite flavor and it was SOOOOO much better than the nasty orange. We had a choice there of Cola, Sprite or Orange flavor!

I did the one hour at 12 weeks and passed. They are doing another one hour on the 15th to check again since with twins I run twice the risk I guess. Hopefully I pass with no issues
