    Default Broken Hearted

Had my second ultrasound today. I could tell right away that something wasn't right. It looked so different from all the ones with DS. There was no heartbeat and it was a struggle to see the baby inside. The NP said the yolk sac was abnormally large. It looks like everything stopped growing around 7 weeks. I have to go back on Monday to do another ultrasound just to make sure, but since I'm seeing my OB this time, most likely it will be to discuss my options.

I am so broken hearted right now. This was our miracle baby. We STC'd with DS for 18 months (he is a miracle baby too). After all that, I never thought I could get PG on my own, and we did on the very first try. I just cannot believe this happened.

No, no, no!!!! I am so very sorry. I had a loss between my 2 boys, and I know the pain of receiving a terrible surprise at the ultrasound. Hugs to you. It is just not fair.

Thanks ladies. I went for a second opinion today with my RE that I was seeing when I got PG with DS. They confirmed that this was a miscarriage. As I was leaving her office, I got a call from my OB's office that said my progesterone results came back really low. I guess we'll never know what caused this miscarriage but given my history of low progesterone with DS, I'm not ruling it out as a factor with this pregnancy. I'm going to push for progesterone next time if even my numbers come out normal initially. Good luck to all you May mamas! Wish I could have been with you!
