Default Happy Monday...err Tuesday - Week of 1 Oct 2012

Hi ladies!! Thought it was Monday...forgot DH had a long weekend so it's Tuesday!

Doing well - TONS of nesting/cleaning. Went on a marriage retreat this past weekend to the Great Wolf Lodge and had a pretty good time. Swimming felt AWESOME on this 26 week belly and back! Getting out sucked...LOL

I have an MFM scan this week on Thursday! Baby A was really quiet the other day - I was really happy that we have a HRM. Found her and she appeared head down! Not that she'll stay that way - but that she knows HOW to go head down made me happy

We are under 30 days to DH leaving,...BUT...he hurt his knee really bad in training and may have to have surgery...so we won't know for sure if he is going for a few days. Ortho appt tomorrow. We got a call yesterday from a Surgeon who said he has a Bucket Handle Tear - and that he ripped it straight through. While I would LOVE for him to not deploy...he is going to be MISERABLE if he doesn't. And that's worse than him being gone - him being here and miserable...LOL

Other than that all is pretty quiet. Getting baby clothes washed and selling extra junk we have held on to forever. I am T.I.R.E.D. at night and need to get back to napping daily. And hopefully I will start to sleep better at night - we get a new bedroom set today...LOL

    Happy Thursday? Lol
Sorry, I read your post a couple of days ago, but I kept waiting until I was at the computer to respond. It hasn't happened, so I'm responding from my phone. I'm sorry your husband hurt his knee, I hope that all works out in a way that makes you all happy. Personally, I'd probably be secretly hoping he stuck around until baby gets here.

As for us, I'm finally feeling a little better, but my bad knee is REALLY starting to bother me. I couldn't get comfortable the other night because it hurt so bad. I can't wrap it because I'm allergic to latex, which is in sports wraps, and I also have nerve damage which makes it burn when there's pressure on it. I spend my day walking circles around a large store soliciting credit apps (yeah, I'm that annoying person), so I can't stay off of it. They could make me a cashier instead, but it works out to be less money and I'd still be standing. So, for now I deal with it. My OB did express a little concern that I'm on my feet for 8-9 hours with only a 30 minute lunch (and sometimes a 20 minute break too, if we're not busy), so I have the feeling that the "stop working" order will come sooner rather than later. That puts Jeff and I into a panic, because we really have almost nothing for the baby at this point. DD has decided that baby will get her old cradle (which currently houses her dolls and stuffed animals) and sleep in her room. I still have all the bumpers I made for it, but we'll need a mattress and I'm not sure where the fitted sheets I made are. I suppose I could make more. We found a really nice baby monitor and light & sound mobile at the city-wide "yard sale". I guess I need to start sewing and garage sale-ing. Oh, we also still don't have a name!!

Jeff's mother is apparently hoping for a girl, because she picked up a big bag of girl clothes from an acquaintance...but she's in MI and a HUGE procrastinator too, so chances are even if it's a girl we'll never see the clothes

So...to end on a bright note, I'm starting to get some orders for my art again (people getting ready for Christmas, yay!!), so that should help with the baby stuff. I'm probably going to stop taking orders for my artwork next month, because kiln shelves get heavy and it gets hard to load and unload. Jeff helps make the jewelry, though, so the barrettes and necklaces will probably stick around until Christmas. I'll probably keep doing my painted ornaments too, since I can sit on the couch and paint them if I need to. If anyone's interested in seeing what I do, you can go to www.augustawynde.artfire.com or check Facebook for AugustaWynde Designs...and if you let me know it's you I'll send along a baby ornament for free. (I hope it's okay to post that)

    Happy Thursday indeed!

@ Kat: How great to see your LOs again! There's still a lot of time but hopefully she won't flip back to breech. Also, I'm nesting like crazy, too! I hope your DH feels better soon! Matt tore his ACL and ruptured his meniscus last summer so I know what a big baby a guy can be

@ Augusta: I had no idea you were an artist! I have a BFA in sculpture, I mainly did metallurgy though. My friend Jeannie did ceramics and I was always jealous of how she smelled like kiln while I smelled like rust! Your stuff is awesome! I was looking for ideas for Christmas gifts for the family, so I have a new idea now.

I work on my feet too, but I no longer HAVE to stand all day. All the girls make sure I sit when I can and make me take my lunch first. I also no longer have to assist with the animals or lift anything more than a stack of charts or a small bag of pet food. I'm lucky to work in an office that's mostly women, most of which have 1 or 2 kids as well.

I'm officially in the 3rd trimester! I know some websites say 28 weeks, but Wiki says 27 so I'm going with that. Boo is still breech, he kicks me in the bladder constantly. I know he has plenty of time to flip but I'm getting anxious. Has anyone ever done the massage methods to get their babies to flip? I'm just terrified of a C-section, I'd rather have a V-birth again. I can't remember when Sonja flipped, but I know it was earlier than this Boo....

Almost ready with all of the stuff. My friend who is passing on the bassinet to me said it's really big! it's a wooden unconventional type that a friend from Europe had bought, so it's not a standard US size since I think she ordered it from overseas.... so I might have to invest in a co-sleeper or similar product in the near future. I have a coupon for BRU for 20% off 1 non-sale item.... I'll see if it makes more sense to buy a sale item in stead of use the coupon. I might just buy my own battery-powered swing with the coupon.

I just wanted to remind everyone to get bunting or a pram if you live up north like me.... It'll be the dead of winter when our Boos come home! I bought a cute fleecy/corduroy one from TJ Maxx for $20. Old Navy carries cute ones that are about $20 too. Hats/mittens/fleece booties in addition just in case. Bring some options in your hospital bag for different scenarios.

Anyway, I'm doing well. Other than Boo kicking me in the bladder and sitting on the root of my sciatic nerves! Sleeping is difficult but I got out the PG pillow that's shaped like a big curl so that helps. It takes up a lot of the bed and Matt can't get close to me, but oh well. Not like we're getting intimate that often anyway! Only about once a week or so. I just can't get comfortable in a lot of positions, so it feels like a chore for me! He's a trooper though, we've found other things to do....

@Leigh-- Everytime you talk about how soon your baby is due I have a panic attack, because that's when they'll be taking mine LOL!! Having had both a traditional and a c-section birth, I can tell you that a c-section isn't as frightening as it seems. I had complications, but I was still able to get around and take care of both kids the next week. My ex had already left, and didn't even meet his daughter until she was 9 months old, so I was the only parent. The hardest part for me was remembering not to try and lift anything for a while. I kept forgetting about the incision because it didn't hurt badly. (Tylenol helped a ton!). The traditional birth was so much more painful and traumatic for me, and took just as long to get back up and around. The upside of a c-section was I could use the restroom normally the next day, lol

Thanks so much for the compliments I'm off today, so I'll be posting pics of new stuff today and making more new designs. Check back in and tell me what you think. I always appreciate feedback. I seem to have more ideas than time and energy lately
