"Normal" depends on your doctor. Non-pregnant, my endocrinologist keeps me between 1 and 5. During pregnancy, she wanted me between 1 and 2. I think part of the reason they want it on the lower end if you are trying to get pregnant is that the moment you DO get pregnant, it messes with the thyroid (and if you're on a supplement, you usually need more before you even know your pregnant and can have it tested). However, WHEN you do get pregnant, don't let your TSH number freak you out. Mine was up at 17 and everything turned out just fine. I stressed about it and I'd like you to not stress like I did!
